So, I've gone Options-->Count-In and Metronome Options

Drums count-in set to 'b' substyle fills
Allow Lead-In Bars
Play lead in even if intro present
1-bar lead-in
Lead-in type 'b' substyle fills
Audible Lead-In
Smart Lead-In

So, why no drum fill intro?

It may depend on the Style you are using. That Style might not have b-style drum fills?
Can you advise the Style so that others could verify?

Those setting work here on most styles however as AT has indicated it depends on the style you are using. Most of the styles I have used thus far do have a B-style drum fill but I have run into a couple that did not; don't ask, I don't recall which ones. Experiment and try a few other styles and report back. If none of the styles work then a return to factory settings may be in order.

I definitely get 'b'-sub-style fills here. I think this will be a missing a .bt file or similar.

crazy

The drum track was frozen. blush

So, here's a question: How can I set this for fill on just one beat? Like a click on 1-2-3-(snare hit)-groove?

Can you re-download your RealDrums from your account page, perhaps using the Install Manager, and see if that finds the missing file(s)?

OK, I see. I was busy looking for the RealDrums used when you answered above.

Can you generate the track and then use the Audio Edit Window to cut out what you don't want?

Well, I went to the Audio Edit window, selected the Drum track, selected the audio that I want to delete, got a dialog box saying "There is no RealTracks on this track. Would you like to select one?" The grammar mistake is there, too. If I select No, it does nothing. If I select Yes, it brings up the Select Best Real Tracks window.

Most likely your drum track is on track?
When you select track 3 in the audio edit view, do you see the drum wave?

I think you are running into a bug I reported last year.
It does not know how to delete in front of bar one.

I would get people here to confirm this and I can report I’m the next few days.

However, someone confirmed it last night with an older version and then deleted the post.
We are still looking for a public confirm that bar -1 cannot be edited.
Sorry, I'm real busy today and I literally don't have time to do it myself.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Set up metronome option to generate drums + fill as intro.
2) Go to Audio Edit View and try to delete part of the intro. (bar less than 1)

Please confirm.

You can do it so easily with the Riff Edit in Tracks view, that honestly it would be a shame to waste time on it.
1 circle: no more Count In - Deleted
Circles 2 and 3: modified Drums pattern in 3 seconds.
Look at the recent MusoCity videos, they show the evidence. Let's change !

The bug has been confirmed and reported as listed in the steps.
You are correct as an alternative approach, he can edit them in the Track view, just not the Audio view.
It actually highlights another small issue as the undo in Track view is not applied to the Audio in Audio view.

We need to change our point of view. His problem is that he absolutely wants the old way. But the news is much more effective. To test it is to adopt it.

And that what is it ? it is well applied in the audio view, even leaving the track frozen: We change dimension.

To make sure you are clear, He wants to edit in the beat 1,2 in bar 2 of the -1 Area.
Currently, the Views are meant to support each other, not replace one with the other.
1) works different than the other.
2) undo's are working in one and not the other

Alternative ways are fine but ultimately you want the remaining views to be 100% in sync.
As they get more sophisticated with the Track View, over time perhaps the individual Audio Edit view will go away.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
