What is the best way to delete one chorus of a 4-chorus BIAB .sgu song without messing up the other choruses or having the song re-generated? The song is too long but I like the current generation. I appreciate your help. Thanks.

You export to the Daw and you cut.

Hi LawTunesII.
I agree with MoultiPass. The easiest way to do this would be to send each of the tracks to a DAW and then remove the region that you don't want.
In my early days of BIAB, I used to be fearful of losing good-sounding song generations. These days, what I do is to freeze all tracks and save the song I want to keep. Then I save the song with a slightly new name (for example, if my song is called "Happy Days" (the version I really, really like), I would save a new copy called "Happy Days 2".
In this second version of the song, I then modify the chordsheet so that it is exactly how I want it to be. In your case, this would be to make it one chorus less. Then I regenerate the modified song and I repeat regenerating it until I get something I like. One thing that I've learnt with BIAB is to never think that I have somehow accidentally stumbled upon the very best generation possible. It seems to me that there are always hundreds of amazing song generations waiting to show you how good they are. (Of course, I might have hit gold with the first generation. Thankfully that's saved and I can return to it at any time.)
Regards, --Noel

Indeed, the chance of falling back on the generation we loved is one in several billion, the number of probabilities is just infinite squared. But you can like many versions, that's Biab's principle.

the number of probabilities is just infinite squared. Hmmm, I'm having trouble imagining that. (I also have trouble just handling infinity anyway )

The translation is not entirely correct, but that's the spirit.

Charlie, you never cease to amaze me by turning a simple task like comping in a DAW into a BIAB Hero's Journey! I admire your depth of BIAB knowledge but No Thank You! I'll have those tracks comped in my DAW before you can unfold the choruses!

Hhmmmmm, I don’t think he was talking about comping but hey. One thing to consider is that by cutting out the bars and regenerating you allow BiaB to use auto cross fading to patch the sections together. This can be seamless and immediate. Just save the original and you can
Lenovo Win 10 16 gig ram, Mac mini with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2022, Realband, Harrison Mixbus 32c version 9.1324, Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app, Komplete 49 key controller.

Ok. I've deleted my post to allow JohnJohnJohn to answer the original question of how to delete a chorus in a BIAB song without regeneration and only using BIAB to do it.....

Charlie, you certainly didn't need to delete your post! It contained useful info (I guess) for anyone wishing to pursue that route. My only point is, for me, moving out to the DAW is much faster and I can even do it fast multiple times if I need to change things like tempo, key, etc.
I apologize if I offended you. I was being a bit too snarky.

I decided about 30 years ago that I needed to decide on the form of the new song (which includes the number of choruses) among the first things I do.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
