REACH FOR THE STARS
https://www.reverbnation.com/kaynemusic/song/34309126-reach-for-the-stars I wrote this song several years ago, and was never able to do a decent Demo due to lack of technology, vocal skill, and time. I finally got all those problems solves using BIAB, Cubase, SynthV, and the tools available today. This song is a Positive uplifting message to Children. It sounds to me like a Disney Song or a Broadway Production number. Maybe I can sell it to NASA? What do you think?? HI Elliott,
I didn't hear the original mix. But this one sounds great. Yes, it's a very Disney-sounding piece. All the various BG tracks work seamlessly together - and are good choices by you.
As far as selling to Disney, NASA, or whomever, the biggest problem is access to the ears of the decision-makers. Music libraries can sometimes find that path, but not often. In approximately 12 years on this site, and using several different platforms, I've had one decent license - back in 2012. I sold a license for $800.00 to a British documentary entity.
I was wondering which voices you used - they sound perfect for the song.
Very nicely done, Elliott.

Elliot, very inventive, and a nice listen!
You've definitely got a feel for the showtune style, as this song nails it. Really liked your voices, especially when there was a hint of breathiness. Just adds that nice human touch. A couple of the held notes had too-perfect vibrato to my ears, but that could be my imagination.
Arrangement and mix were great overall. The vocals settled into the mix nicely in the last third, but in the middle I thought they were a bit too far forward.
The work you and others are doing in this area is truly trailblazing, and I look on in wonderment.

Oh, yeah, a perfect song for Disney. Really well done, Elliott. Lyrics are Goldilocks perfect. I agree with Ron on how the vocal settled nicely afterr seemingly being out front, but that may have been your intention. Great mix and a really fine uplifting song.

That's a great show tune.
Here's a few nits. On the first REACH in the choruses that word is buried in the mix.

Very Disney indeed. I'm still on the fence about whether I like Saros or not, but man, you really wrote some damn good harmonies here. I love it.

Elliott, definitely a song destined for a Broadway play or musical. Great message. Super backing tracks. Your doing extremely well with those synth voices. Great mix.

Oh heck yeah.
Elliott I think this is a sync/commercial masterpiece.
Really really really really good. I can hear this in a Disney movie right now, the arrangement is masterful. The vocals are awesome.
I'm tipping my hat and saluting you sir. Way to go. You need to pitch this thing through any avenue you can.
P.S. I just bought and downloaded this song so I can study it carefully. Total respect dude.
P.S. When I play the song the meta tags say "When I met you..." Just FYI. You may want to look into that...

Wow, love everything about this!
Excellent write, yes, would be perfect for a Disney production.
Top notch production! Man, those synth vocals sound great, especially the harmonies, and I'm sure that took quite some time to program!
Very impressive!

We agree with the Disney thoughts but also Janice thought of young folks involved with the Young Life organization. The message is uplifting and the music is joyous.
Your synth vocals sound excellent, as does the band and mix!
Kudos!

Hi Elliot,
I read all the post here and they are all so positive! I am too, your vocals are good. Think I told you that before on some of your other songs. But beside all the compliments I can share easily, I also want to add a thing or two; You have to match your lyrics to what you sing. There are quit a few words that are word to treat this way. For example; Climbed a higher mountain Swim the deepest sea (lyrics) where you sing 'Climbed the highest mountain etc.' The other thing i want to tell you is about the chorusses. They have a beautiful build up, but they don't stand out in volume and use of the band. Instead, they sounded somewhat softer than the verses. And that's a pitty! Like I said, it's a really nice song on its own, but you might need to do some tweaking in the mix...
Cheers, Hans

Great positive message would be a perfect for a musical, "Take the path less traveled by and open up your mind". And Saros is a perfect voice for this genre, you have made great work with the dynamics and the wide range. Catchy chorus melody, the backing vocals support excellently. The arrangement is very pleasant, I like your work with the strings. This song doesn't pale in comparison with famous show tunes, so I hope you get it on the bigger forums.

Definitely a strong show/soundtrack tune. I like the rise in the melody before the chorus. Strong chorus.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
