The installer asks whether to download PRT (playable real tracks) audio demos to hard drive, or no.
I watched several PRT videos on YouTube. But I can’t understand in what cases these demos might be needed? I don't even understand how I can listen to them in BIAB.
I understand how audio demos for styles or real tracks work. But how and for what can I listen to PRT audio demos?
Hello,
In Band-in-a-Box, right-click on a track and go to: Select MIDI instrument | Select HiQ patch. This opens up the HiQ selection dialog, which includes the Playable RealDrums and Playable RealTracks patches (see attached image). If you double-click on one of them, it will play an audio demo. The demos have three parts:
(1) The MIDI (HiQ / PRT) patch playing solo.
(2) The HiQ patch playing with the band.
(3) The original RealTracks part that the PRT patch is intended to sound like (for comparison), playing with the band.
All audio demos, including the PRT demos, will automatically use the online demo files, so if your computer is online and you double-click one of those entries you'll hear the demo. If you have not downloaded the demos (i.e. checked the box in that installer) to your local HD and your computer is offline then you won't be able to hear the demos.
