In MultiPicker, I found a feature called "lauch stylepicker showing style with selecte......" when selecting Realtracks.

However, this feature is not available in midi super?
So I wonder why this is? Is this very difficult?
If it's already designed, why not implement it all?

It's like I designed a building with an elevator. But the elevator is only available on the first floor. Elevators are not allowed on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th floors. Isn't that strange?

Using the MST Bass 3316 from the screen shot as an example: Search RealTracks for a Bass, Pophalfnotes and on my system the search yielded 12 compatible RealTracks. Leaving the Pophalfnotes in the Search Bar and clicking on the MidiSuper Tracks Tab and that yields the four matching Bass pophalfnotes MidiSuper Tracks. Those four MidiSuperTrack should work with any of those Styles found using that launch selection button.

I tried this work around on several other searches and using the Filter String for particular type RealTracks will display the total number of RealTrack matches. Selecting the other tabs and you'll see any results of other instruments that match that search. For instance, search the RealTracks Tab using the Filter Search Bar with search data - "Piano, acoustic, held" found 10 RealTracks and 6 MidiSuper Tracks that should work with the nine RealStyles found when launching the StylePicker selection is used. The only Tab that doesn't display the data in the Filter String search bar is RealDrums. All the other Tabs do retain the search data.

MidiSuperTracks will work as a direct replacement for the Style search results from the "Launch StylePicker with styles with selected RealTrack:"

Select a RealTrack that matches what you are looking for in a MidiSuperTrack instrument and the Styles that match the RealTrack will also work for that MidiSuperTrack.

My English is not good. I still don't know what you mean.

The MultiPicker will do what you're asking for. You are not directing the program to keep the selected midi so you can return to it. Use the Filter String box to keep that midi selection in memory or to search for a Style that uses that MST.

Yes, that's an accurate description of certain aspects of the program.

Just tried this workaround and it doesn't work for me. Search does not return the correct results, it simply shows the currently selected style.

Hi Cerio. You are not directing the program to keep the selected midi so you can return to it.

Use the Filter String box to keep that midi selection in memory. When you type the 1796 MST number in the Styles Tab search , the MultiPicker is searching for the number 1796 in Styles List.

Type 1796 in the MST Tab after you have worked in other tabs and typing 1796 will bring up the MST 1796 Piano.

To search for Styles that contain the MST 1796 Piano - use the button with the plus sign.

Yes, you're right, that works, thanks.

But in any case this does not invalidate the point made by SBM: menus, submenus and behaviour of the different tabs in the MP should be as consistent and homogeneous as possible, this is how modern software works and this is what any user would expect. Using SBM's metaphor, the actual implementation is like having an elevator with buttons for different floors situated in different places, some of them hidden behind the wall panels, and others kept in a locked box.

The MP window is a good step in the right direction, but there is still plenty of room for improvement there.

Glad it's working for you. I was just helping SBM with the steps he was missing to get the results he's looking for. I have no intent to invalidate his points about upgrades because you're right that some software upgrades would be good for the program.

I know, of course, I didn't want to imply that. Sorry if it seemed otherwise

No worries. I didn't take your comment that way. This is the wish list and SBM was posting his concerns properly and they're valid points. I wasn't doing a good job explaining the step being missed. Your follow up comments may help him and others.

I see what you mean.
You're talking about a quick way to read RT-dependent styles or MIDI dependent styles.
Thank you very much.

But this is different from what I said above.

I still hold my own opinions.
I want every menu in MultiPicker to have "lauch stylepicker showing style with selected..... "Function.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
