Donny, very cool track! Love the percolating funk groove and wah guitar. Perfect vocals for this style of song, and like your guitar break, too. The LP already sounds dialed in to my ears. Nice one!

Donny, super groove.
I think you already have that LP tuned in.
Your song reminded me a little like Santana, and that's a good thing.
Super vocal and mix.
PS - First takes are the best as they have all the energy. I would rather hear a first take with a few warts that a track that has been polished dull!

Hey Hey MarioD, thank you for all the love. Yea a Santana vibe and the super high B note now and again, thank you BB King. Yes, the first take thing is a direct result of busking live. Every performance needs to be a first take in my opinion. Also, when using the XLR output from the amplifiers assures me that the people are hearing exactly what is being recorded. It gets awkward when I hit the mic or a hot rod noise bleeds in, but like you say, it is all more organic to me. To be honest, I don't use any DAW, I hit record and go perform. LOL. Thanks again.

Lovely laid back song. Great sampling, arrangement and mix, plus very cool vocals.

Hi Donny,

This has a Smooth RnB sound with a Latin influence. In my book, that's a great combination. All the BG tracks sit where they should, and the vocal is smooth! The LP sounds fine to me.

When I was playing 18 - 22 shows per month (which I did for 7 or 8 years), they were just too heavy. I had a '54 Tele and two arch-top Gibsons (A DC150 and an ES175).

I don't use a DAW, either. Audacity takes care of my needs. Some folks say it's almost a basic DAW. It's getting there!

Lots to like about this one. Thanks for the listening pleasure! And it truly was a pleasure.

Alan

It reminds me of JJ Cale. and it's also well done. It's very homogeneous between the accompaniment and the singing

Hi Alan, thank you for the great critique, that is one thing about this forum, plenty of incredible musicians. Wow, that is a ton of playing, yea I can see your concerns for your back, I have the same concerns. I was using a 335 which really turned out bad, not only for weight but for bottom bought balance issues. The newer Epi LP's advertise the lighter weight than the Gibson, my Epi weighs in at 9lbs 2oz, not too bad for me. By the way, one of your songs gets keyed up now and again, really cool. Thanks again.

Pretty cool, laid back groove with a tasteful selection of instruments.
I like the way you bring it all together, laid back but never boring.
Nice work!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Oh, yeah, Donny, if you were a busker in my town, I'd spend a lot of time hanging at your spot. In fact, I pushed play 3 times on this one. Good song, and I really enjoy the band, too. Vocal is perfect. I'd say the guitar sits perfectly in the mix. Are you saying you just got a new Les Paul? Thr guitar has the perfect touch and taste for the song. Well done.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Donny.
I was waiting for someone to say you sound like JJ Cale and then Laurent did just that.
Nicely done.

Hey Donny, nice groove and smooth vocals to match. I would love it if you included the lyrics either in your SC description or as part of your form post. BTW, great guitarin'!

Hey hey BabuMusic, thanks for all the love. Yea I have been searching for the perfect neck profile for me. When i read that Gibson, who owns Epiphone, gave them the rights to build a Les Paul Classic I knew I needed to try one out. I cannot justify the pricing of a Gibson, as it turns out I made the right choice, the hunt for MY perfect neck profile has ended. I played a three-hour set yesterday and the weight and playability were spot on. Thanks for asking. Thank you again.

Hey hey Dewey, the song I posted was a 'on the spot' live recording, including the words and music etc... As soon as I get the song written and published, I will come back with the final work and update the post, thanks for asking. Thank you for the guitar comment, your words are gold to me.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
