BackgroundToday, 3/7/2024 is an important day in world history with Sweden finally joining the NATO Alliance as the 32nd member thereby ending over 2 centuries of military neutrality. To all Swedes on this forum and around the world I stand with millions of others from freedom-loving democracies to say congratulations! The security of your nation as well as that of the alliance will be enhanced because of your inclusion. Finland . . . . Check! Sweden . . . . Check! Ukraine . . . . Next! To Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, I say job well done. Indeed, you and your leadership team will be painted very favorably in the many history books that are sure to be written. In an ideal world, such alliances wouldn’t be necessary, but just as we need police in our cities to keep the thugs in check, so too there are thugs on the world stage that need to be restrained. This is an attempt at a Swedish folk song but with piano and trumpet included and will not be everyone’s cup of tea as intentionally there is no explicit/hummable melody. Hope you enjoy. Ha! Well, THAT was certainly unexpected, but a lot of fun. Except...it needed MORE SPOONS!
Thanks for this tribute to peace. Not sure if this is an authentic Swedish folk song sound or not, but it did make me smile.

Well, we don't know if it is Swedish, but it certainly is cheerful music. Makes you feel happy. The spoons are nice!

Spoons and accordion... That's something you don't hear every day. Is that native to Sweden? I was expecting something more Abba

Steve, I don't know if that was song from Sweden or not, but I do know that it was an excellent song. Super bass line and mix. A great message lead-in story that I agree with.
I just posted a selfie and all of the responses were get well soon!

DC, Laurent, Rob & Ann-Marie and Floyd, thanks for the listen and kind reviews.
Yes, this was a bit different than my usual tinkerings but was actually fun to put together. I'm sure there's much goodness to explore in Swedish folk music.

Marty, David C, David S and Mario, thanks to you guys as well for the positive critiques. I find it odd in a good way that a "simple" pair of spoons can keep the rhythm quite nicely

Hi Steve,
I see you are in a very good mood about Sweden, and Finland, joined Nato! As far as I know you borrowed the spoons and harmonica from Switzerland, but i'm sure Sweden doesn't mind. They love it too! After Stoltenberg I think we will be in charge (if Orban is not obstructing too much), with or without the US. Hope it all goes well!
A funny song though,
Hans

The trumpet is definitely my cup of tea. I used to darn good but gave it up years ago. Delightful song in honor of our new NATO ally. You bass provides a solid anchoring for the tune.

Hi Steve,
I see you are in a very good mood about Sweden, and Finland, joined Nato! I guess you could say that. Their inclusion is great news. Thanks for the listen.

Hey Storm, thanks for listening and the feedback. There is something special about a well-played trumpet, it's such a versatile instrument.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
