Hi all,
Here's a tribute to Erik Satie.
Natalie (Synthesizer v) is singing.
Only one guitar accompanies her: RT 1181

https://soundcloud.com/christian-devienne/thank-you-mister-satie

Thank you Mister Satie for this Gymnopedie
Which amazes us
Even if we don’t know the music theory
Your World seems fabulous
At the tips of your fingers
Dream is floating
Like little tightrope walkers
We’re wandering

From the first to third beat music’s taking its time
Makes the moment last
Each note is so precious, the tempo is just prime
There’s no need to go fast
Magic of your melody
Makes us quieter
And your first Gymnopedie
Takes us further

Love the simplicity, and you fashioned Natalie so well. Yes, there is magic in the melody. Very well done, Chris.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Chris, a starkly beautiful piece. I did not know Satie, but he sounds quite worthy of this tribute. Nicely done!

I enjoyed your tribute, Chris. Really nicely done.

Re the YT video, playing a piece well that is this slow and with a lot of dynamic range is WAY more difficult than it looks. Props to the pianist. Great rendition.

Very nice, ( I had to Google the word Gymnopedie ... LOL) Synth V sounds beautiful, and the simple yet effective guitar work set against your lyrics are a work of art.

I only know the Satie piece via BS&T. It's a great idea to add lyrics to it. Well done.

Chris, this sounds exactly like some of the folk artists I listened to in a small cafe near me, way back in the mid 1960s.
Great arrangement.
Super synth vocal.

I just posted a selfie and all of the responses were get well soon!

Hi, Christian.

Very pretty!

I've always loved Satie's Gymnopedie #1, and Natalie has a lovely voice.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thanks The Maartian, Elliott, WaoBand, Mario and David.
The accompaniment with one guitar seems simple but finding a good sound and fluid notes wasn't so easy!

Chris,

It's a simple and very beautiful song.
The transition in the middle of the song is great.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

I like your sparse arrangement that leaves a lot of room for the singer.
Very tasteful.
In my opinion, some lines have too many syllables for a song with this mood to really fit the mood, but other than that, I really like your song [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Thank you B.D.Thomas,
With this song, I wanted to alternate long sequences of short notes with some sequences of long notes.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
