So, for Easter, I thought I would not write a song about anyone else's shortcomings, but a song about my own. Yes the song does use the "derrière" A-word, and in the title, so if this is offensive don't click, I guess. But it is country, and it is a Christian song. And as B.D. has bravely led the way and he wasn't censored, then maybe I don't need to censor my Jesus reflections either on how much I need a hard kick in the a...sometimes. JESUS KICK MY [*****] By David Snyder https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs4/jesus-kick-myV1 Sometimes I say some things I can't believe And I’m rude as hell Wear it on my sleeve I go off half cocked And run my mouth too much And my friends all leave and say I'm out of touch (Pre-Chorus) Then I turn on some country radio And it tells me everything I need to know (Chorus) I don't need a shrink I don’t need no therapy And I don't need to think Any more about me And I don't need to take An anger management class No I just need Jesus To kick my [*****] Yeah I say Jesus Jesus kick my [*****] V2 I get tangled up in pride And start cuttin’ off my nose Acting out of fear And hurt the ones I love the most (Pre-Chorus) Then I turn on some country radio And it tells me everything I need to know (Chorus) I don't need a shrink I don’t need no therapy And I don't need to think Any more about me And I don't need to take An anger management class No I just need Jesus To kick my [*****] Yeah I say Jesus Jesus kick my [*****] (Bridge) I'm tired of walking On this broken glass So I surrender up this flesh And the things I can’t get past (Chorus) Oh, I don't need a shrink I don’t need no therapy And I don't need to think Any more about me And I don't need to take An anger management class No I just need Jesus To kick my [*****] Yeah I say Jesus Jesus kick my [*****] All Words and Music copyright 2024 David Snyder ASCAP/Day of Faith Records David Snyder: Vocals, Arrangement, Instrumentation, Mixing and Mastering RealTracks in style: 3455:Bass, Electric, Americana16thsSteveAB Ev16 075 RealTracks in style: 833:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm AltCountryMoody Ev 075 (A:held) RealTracks in style: 3714:Guitar, Baritone Acoustic, Rhythm AmericanaRootsy16ths Ev16 070 RealTracks in style: 2667:Pedal Steel, Background DreamySingleNote Ev 075 RealDrums in style:Americana16thsSyncFred^1-a:QuarterHiHat,Snare , b:QuarterRide,Snare

Ha, now I am the bad guy.. The boy your parents told you not to play with. And you're saying it's all my fault Anyway, I like your song, and for obvious reasons especially the lyrics. That's the good stuff! More...

Thanks B.D. bro! You have pushed my boundaries into the realm of authenticity even if that means I have to accept full blame for everything that has ever gone wrong in the world and evangelize with a potty mouth!!!

Bravo! Thoughtful composition, soulfully sung and expertly produced. Really enjoy your forays into the dusty, unexplored corners of the music world. Very inspirational.

HI David,
Dripping with inspiration and the need for all of us to do a little soul-searching and figure out how to limit those kicks!
Your music is always a terrific listen. This is a kick-a$$ song! Why is that not a surprise?
Take care,
Alan

Interesting take on one's own self.
Pretty accurate in a few of those lines but hey.... you are who you are and I love you anyway.
Good job on the song.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Hey thanks a lot Dave!
I really appreciate those good comments.
In all honesty I have to say I think I had a co-writer on this song.
Because it was only minutes before that I was praying, oh Jesus please help me write a hit country song.
And then I do believe that I heard a still small voice, and Jesus said, sit down at your keyboard right now and I'm going to help you write a hit country song. It's going to be all about you. Cause I need to help you get your act together.
Now type.
Happy Good Friday!!

We were smiling from start to finish on this most unique Easter song.
Your sense of humor and creativity are such a pleasure, David.
The dreamy pedal steel took it over the top.
Happy Easter!

David,
A Very Strong Write. Hittin' on all cylinders here. A strong message. Self-reflection should be more wide spread. A lot more. A Just-Right Production. Excellent. One of your best - among so many "bests".

Hi, David.
Excellent song. You've got your own voice, and it comes through loud and clear.
How could this not be a huge hit? It's mentions Jesus and it's got banjo. You can start counting your royalty checks right now!

David, First let me say that I normally don't listen to evangelical songs posted here simply because often I can't tell if they are praising Jesus or the "man who would be King again". We left our church because the assistant pastor preached the dangerous lie that hydroxychloroquine is a safe and effective treatment for covid, despite the volume of science to the contrary. Of course, it's no mystery where this guy got his "gospel" from. It's one thing to hi-jack a political party, quite another to hi-jack an entire American faith. I also notice that for $59.99 we can all buy a Bible, proceeds of which go towards paying legal bills associated with sleeping with a p*** star. Is there no limit to how far this guy will sink? I wonder if in his "Bible" he claims to be born of a virgin?
Have you read The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism by Tim Albert? I understand Tim is a pastor's son. Thankfully, I see no evidence that Christianity has been hi-jacked in other countries.
Second, your song title caught my attention and you have been known to be authentic and self-reflective, so I said, "Let's give this one a shot". And I wasn't dissappointed. Vocally, I really like your syllabalization (is that a word?) and lyrically this is strong and honest.
Third, I see no evidence that you are worshipping or singing about "the man who would be King again", otherwise I'd never say "good job".
Good job.
https://soundcloud.com/user-646279677BiaB 2024 Windows For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
