Hi, everyone. I'd like to create a reasonably decent website for my songs. I've already got a website , but it's kinda rudimentary, I think (on the other hand, it's only around 5 US Dollars a month, so ...) .

I'm willing to spend more, but, if I do, I want it to look half-decent. I've tried Bandzoogle, and I didn't like it ... felt clunky. I thought of mapping my domain to Bandcamp, but I didn't like that I can't modify the design as I'd like it. I tried Tunebud ... good website, but the uploading music process is so convoluted ... argh. So: any suggestions? smile Again, I'm willing to spend more than I'm spending now, for the right website, but ... I'm not rich, either, so nothing too extravagant.

Easy enough, right? smile Thanks for any thoughts on this! smile (oh, and I'd like to be able to offer the songs for sale through the website, if at all possible ...)

+++ Wix dot Com +++ They offer both free and paid website plans. Another alternative could be to use online music distributors like +++ BandLab +++ or +++ DistroKid +++

Or WordPress via GoDaddy .. pretty minimal costs, just takes a little futzing around to find a theme you like.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I built my website quickly and easily on the Go Daddy site. I had my URL with them. My website was old and out of date so I used their tools to build a new one. Not being tech savvy I wasn't sure about it but it went smoothly. Edits and super convenient too.

Check it out at www.herbhartley.com

Thanks, all! I'll now have a look at Wix, GoDaddy and Wordpress! Herb, your website looks wonderful ... exactly the kinda thing I'd like ... i.e. nothing too crazy, but it must look reasonably good. And yours looks good (no "reasonably" about it smile ).

Thanks again! smile

Hi James,

I realize this thread is a couple of months back, but if you're interested, here's one of the music sites I built on wix.com. This one is a simple, quick, and easy site - could be a lot more complicated, but this serves me quite well. It's a collection of 50 or 60 songs I've written in various genres.

best to you,

Alan

I'd go with WordPress, way more flexible than Bandcamp, and you can make it look exactly how you want.
For hosting, Bluehost is a good option without spending too much. It usually costs $7/month, but here's a coupon that gives you a plan for just $2/month.
