Hi All
Does anyone have a suggestion of a Bass RT that would suit the clasdic Hotel C?
The genre is not my usual and I'm a bit lost trying to find a Bass RT with that country run feel.
All help always appreciated.

Ian Hi Ian, Try _Quasar style which uses 2475 Acoustic Bass Held Simple (Craig Nelson Set 234) or _FINE style which uses 1636 Bass Electric (Alex Al, set 145) Either of these might hopefully work?

I'd hoped the Funk one might but its way too busy. HC is a straight EV8 AFAICT and that one gallops along.
Where I'm up to atm is using 3458 HELD for the Intro part, all 32 bars of it, lol, then using 3458 again thereafter on a new track but without using the HELD feature. AFAIK its not possible to switch that feature in and out within the chord progression.
My arrangement wont be an Eagles copy cover, its just a bit of Fun for my own purposes so not too precious if I can't find anything better.

I believe use of a held chord (chord with three dots) is limited to once per bar. However that one time can be on any quarter beat within the bar. At the same time I suspect that on beats two or three a shot (chord with two dots) would likely sound more natural.
Another thing to keep in mind is a held chord will naturally fade out over multiple bars as long as you don't insert a chord into a following bar. The held chord automatically stops and is replaced by whatever new chord is follows. This becomes most important when a held chord is used on beat four.
I do not believe Microchords are compatible with held chords since the Microchords are based on Playable RealTrack sounds and I don't think the Playable RealTrack sounds include Shots or Holds.
One thing you might try is to break up a bar into multiple bars by using the F5 Bar Settings window to set the number of beats per bar to one, two, or three beats then switch back to four beats per bar later.

Go to the styles selector. Just audition a number of the style demos in the country contemporary and the rock medium styles and if you find something you like , look at the tracks in the style and go from there.
That is what I do quite often when I like the style but one of the instruments.... either drums or the bass usually, don't fit what I want it to do or sound like.

You can also use the midi data from a good midi cover of Hotel California and use a Hi-Q bass, Super Midi Bass or Playable RealTrack.
The Playable RealTrack works great with a bass line but it takes a bit of work because you have to manipulate the track a bit and copy paste the Hotel California midi bass notes to replace a RealTrack RealChart.

Thanks for all the input guys.
I wasn't expecting to copy the Randy Leisner Bass line , just something to mug along to in my rubber room.
So 3458 works in this instance. Just about.
Hope all keeping well. Doing OK now after Sawbones did a good job on my hips
