Hi:
I have owned Band in a box for a number of years but I have never used Real Band.
When would I use Real Band instead of Band in a Box?
Is there advantages to using Real Band?

Hi John, I think Realband is more like a normal DAW in some of its operation. I prefer to use Realband once I have the song laid out in Band In A Box as BIAB renders the song faster. Once I have selected the style to use and entered the chord progression in BIAB, I then open the song in Realband and do the actual recording of instruments and vocals in Realband. However, you should use whatever fits best for your workflow. Realband allows you to see all the tracks of your song and has a much better mixer. It also lets you modify each track with volume changes so you can fade in our out different portions of the track and allows you to add multiple effects easier. I personally think Realband has a lot of things going for it but it seems like PG Music doesn't put as much effort into developing it as they do BIAB. That's my opinion anyway.

Del covered a few, but there are many features of RB that make it different.
My suggestion: try it and see.
Example:
Highlight a part of a single track and regenerate just that section.
Also RB seems to be easier to add a track from a different style or change a track ...
What if I want a Motown type sax solo in my 'X' style song instead of what that style generated? <grin>
That can be done in Biab, just seems more intuitive to me in RB.
Most features are found in a right-click menu for any track.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
