Very cool song. I agree with you on David Crosbys vocals. When I was taking some courses on mixing one of the projects was to mix one of the last songs David Cosby released. There was about 20 tracks of actual isolated vocals and the backtracks. Those tracks sent shivers down my spine.

Loved the vocal and lyrics. Backtrack was excellent. Well done.

Oh...WOW! That mixing course must have been otherworldly. There's an isolated vocal of Mr Tambourine Man on YouTube with just Roger and David on vocals. Blows my mind.

Thanks for the listen...glad you liked our tune!

To be able to create a catchy pop song about this type of surprising subject shows amazing talent. Lightweight mood, simple arrangement and very pleasant radio-friendly mix are honey to my ears smile And when the singer sounds like he is born to sing songs like this, there's everything needed for an international hit.

Oh yeah, the CSN vibe is very good. We always enjoy D.A.’s vocals and these harmonies are sweet!

R.W.’s lyric is very interesting and reminded us of thoughts on the subject by Bob Dylan as noted in his never completed autobiography.

Great open/airy mix that sounds excellent on our large KALI monitors.
If you get a chance what was the mastering chain?

Kudos!

Janne, wow, so glad you liked it! Have no illusions about making "hits", but it's rewarding to think this song can be appreciated internationally. I do love these lyrics...

Janice and Budy, why, THANK YOU! Now I'm curious about how you could know what's in an unpublished book, but I digress...I do love these lyrics, and find them relatable even though I've never been in that situation. But the whole exercise of trying your best to be understood, and failing, is perhaps universal to our existence. Know it is to mine. Let's see...the mastering chain was Waves Abbey Road TG Mastering Chain on the master track of Studio One, and then fine tuning and adjusting the exported Studio One mix for loudness in IK's Lurrsen Mastering Console. Have custom presets that I use as a starting point for both TG and Lurrsen. Though I have two chains, the touch is light in both. Glad ya'll enjoyed it!

Dylan wrote volume I many years ago. It received stellar reviews but volume II has never appeared. Thanks for the mastering info. We have a lot of custom chains, tweaked presets, etc., also and like you we use a light touch. It’s all a mishmash of a Waves and Ozone modules. Appreciate the listing of yours.

Ron,

It's a very pop song.
The melody is very nice.
I think this is a song that will immediately capture the hearts of many listeners.
The harmonies are also great.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Without knowing the musicians you refer yourself to, I nevertheless really enjoyed this song ... although the lyrics are really enigmatic, and I would have loved to understand them more. But perhaps it's better this way? smile Well done!

Sorry, James! "CSN&Y" is the late 60's rock band Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Sometimes they performed without Neil Young as just "CS&N". Had to look it up, but turns out CSN&Y only had one top 40 hit in the UK, "Marrakesh Express". If you do a web search, "Marrakesh Express" is a nice introduction to CSN&Y style harmonies. That song was written by CSN&Y band member Graham Nash, a Brit. Graham had earlier success in the UK as a co-founder of The Hollies. The Hollies' "Bus Stop" is one of my favorite songs ever.

The lyrics are indeed enigmatic and maybe ambiguous. On one level it is the literal story of a cross-cultural television interview gone sideways. On another, it is perhaps a broader parable about the struggle to be clearly understood.

Thanks for the listen. Glad you enjoyed it despite the mysteries!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
