Happy Canada Day to all and sundry.

From the land of Maple Syrup, Oil Reserves, and the source of about a billion bucks a day shipped to the USA.

Where our cops still have mounts, and where there are more mosquitoes and black flies than people.

Where there are lots of musicians because you can't go outside much of the year so when you get tired of sitting/laying you pick up your fiddle and scrape.

Where we say eh and use quaint expressions.

Where we send our hockey players to other teams so one group of Canucks can beat another group of Canucks.

Where a hockey sweater is formal wear.

Where our suntans come from Cuba.

Where PGmusic is changing the face of one 'man' acts, and jazzers and country fans stick their tongues out at each other in good fun.

And where we take our baked beans with Maple Syrup, which is also put on ribs, chicken, ice cream and snow.

And where the Queen still rules, albeit on our own terms.

So Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks who are going to light fireworks, go to concerts, and kick back to celebrate our independence, the beaver, and the leaf and where the Hockey Night in Canada theme is really the anthem we can all relate to the best. Only 2 months until it snows, so here's to summer, in the True North Strong and Free. (Just add 15% HST)
