That Wonderful German Language

A thing that has always confuses me is the position of the verb in the sentence.

Correct me if I am wrong, please, but a German drags the verb, kicking and screaming, all the way to the end while the listener must suffer in anticipation.

Example: "I am video games playing while music listening "

American humorist, Mark Twain, wrote much about his pursuit of the elusive German verb. He wrote, in essence, that only after diligent study, he could determine, with any reasonable degree of certainty, where the verb would appear only to have it pop up like a Prairie Dog where he least expected it.

It is a very funny read. However, I've forgotten the title, but then again, I'm a senile citizen. (chuckle).
