It's a lot simpler than most of my instrumentals. The trumpet part was built from multiple takes, and heavily edited in Reaper. The piano only plays holds on the chords for a very sparse sound.

I was getting some high-end ringing artifacts on some of the trumpet parts, so I split the output, with the dry signal clipping the high end, but sending the unclipped signal to the effects. The compression helped make things a bit more cohesive.

In general, it's probably mixed too hot, but I'm not sure I can hear very objectively at this point. Plus, I'm using effects with EZMix2, and the demo which gives me 15 minutes to play with it before it deactivates for the session. So I'm sort of limited to the number of tweaks I can do before the clock runs out...

Thoughts?
