I just saw this run across the screen on Fox News. He was 91. For those who don't know, he was the lyricist who collaborated with composer Burt Bacharach on an astonishing string of hits in the 60s and 70s, and perhaps later. (I was involved in other styles of music by then and wasn't paying attention.) Titles include "Alfie," "Walk On By," "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head," "Do You Know The Way To San Jose," "What The World Needs Now," and many, many others.
