I doubt if the RealTracks / RealDrums tempo is that different than the tempo developed by midi tracks. What you're probably feeling is how the real musician played with a slightly different feel than the pattern generated by the midi style.

One way to find out for sure is to create midi and real drum tracks based off the same style and chordsheet. Render both to audio (WAV or AIFF) files, import both into a daw and compare the wave forms.
