A build 106 update patch is available for Band-in-a-Box 2015. (Oct 23, 2015) Download the Band-in-a-Box 2015 Build 106 update (40MB) Summary of fixes in build 106 (since build 105)- Fixed: There is a grayed-out checkbox in Notation Options that doesn't do anything "Show fret #s on chord diagrams".
- Fixed: Rendering to AIFF or M4A from various places in the program might cause a crash.
Summary of fixes in build 105 (since build 104)- Improved: Audio > Move Performance Track to Audio... was a bit unclear for choosing the source track. Now the custom track label and default track labels are indicated, and only existing Performance tracks can be chosen.
- Improved: When a song has an audio track offset (e.g. the audio track offset might be set when using the Audio Chord Wizard), and recording audio during the non-existing audio section at the beginning of the track, the audio track offset will be removed and replaced with the recorded audio.
- Improved: Audio Edit window has a better looking scrollbar that also responds to clicks in between the thumb & arrow buttons (scrolls a whole page).
- Fixed: Audio Edit playback cursor would blink (far left) when not playing.
- Fixed: Entering a negative millisecond value in the Audio Range Dialog when choosing (Audio > Edit Audio > Timeshift Audio...) would move audio from the cursor to the left, whereas it should match the Band-in-a-Box for Windows behaviour instead (erase audio to the right of the cursor instead of the left).
- Fixed: When importing an audio file using the Audio Import dialog, and the file contains tempo data, Audio Master (Base) Tempo is always changed to the file's tempo regardless if the user cancels the dialog or unchecks 'Set Audio Master (Base) Tempo to '.
- Fixed: When importing an audio file using the Audio Import dialog, the 'overwrite' method should not be replacing the existing audio track (it should be doing what the 'merge' method was doing).
- Fixed: When importing an audio file using the Audio Import dialog, the 'merge' method is supposed to overdub new audio onto existing audio.
- Fixed: Audio > Edit Audio > Insert Bars was shortening the resulting audio file. E.g. if inserting 1 second of silence into a 4 second file, the resulting file would be 3 seconds long (2 seconds shorter than it should be).
- Fixed: Audio > Edit Audio > Convert Channels (mono/stereo)... would not work if the audio track had not been edited yet.
- Fixed: Audio > Edit Audio > Convert Channels (mono/stereo)... while Audio Edit window is open would not properly resize the wave editing area.
- Fixed: Using Audio > Edit Audio > Convert Channels (mono/stereo)... to convert the audio track from mono-stereo would cause the Audio Edit window to zoom in as far as possible.
- Fixed: If user resizes window to be larger than the workable area (e.g. overlapping the Dock), the program response would become very slow.
- Fixed: Acid Loops would say 'Acid Loop (AIFF)' in the memo of the Loops dialog.
- Fixed: Audio > Edit Audio > Convert Channels (mono/stereo)... would miss a small chunk data at the end of file.
- Fixed: If using an uncommon audio file format (e.g. 48000Hz/32bit) for the audio track, meta-data in the file would be lost.
- Fixed: Audio > Edit Audio > Erase Region of Audio... would not preserve meta-data in the WAV file used by the audio track.
- Fixed: Audio > Edit Audio > Adjust level of region of Wave file (permanent)... would not preserve meta-data in the WAV file used by the audio track.
- Fixed: Drag-n-Drop exporting of a single track would always mix in the audio track.
- Fixed: A song would not return to original overall song tempo when hitting stop, if song has tempo changes and playback started from middle of song.
- Fixed: Starting playback from the middle of the song, when the song has tempo changes, would cause the audio track to go out of sync.
- Fixed: When a song has an audio track offset (e.g. the audio track offset might be set when using the Audio Chord Wizard), recorded audio will be placed near the end of the song (shifted).
- Fixed: When a song has an audio track offset (e.g. the audio track offset might be set when using the Audio Chord Wizard), it would remain in the song after the audio track was removed, and would cause any new audio to be shifted.
- Fixed: If a song previously had an audio track, and the user gets the "mysong.wav is not found" message, re-saving did not stop the message (the message says that it will).
- Fixed: Rendering any track into an Artist Performance Track would always mix in the audio track.
- Fixed: The [Clear All] button in RealTracks Picker would cause a crash if the current style contained RealTracks.
- Fixed: Opening the event list [#] in the Notation window would cause a crash if there were zero events on the current track.
- Fixed: Melody > Track Type > Single Channel, etc... current item was never checked.
- Fixed: Soloist > Track Type > Single Channel, etc... current item was never checked.
- Fixed: Play > Freeze a Track > Bass, etc... items were not checked/unchecked when freezing from the Mixer.
- Fixed: When using the Save as Video dialog, [Cancel Rendering] would not cancel the rendering process.
- Fixed: Big Piano button was missing from popup menu (smaller resolutions).
- Fixed: Dragging mouse to selecte region of Audio Edit window would allow cursor to go paste beginning or end of track.
- Fixed: (for localized versions): The mixer would show the shortened RealTracks and MIDI SuperTracks names instead of the full ones.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
