Waitresses

A tongue in cheek (at least I think it is) song about waitresses.

Waitresses

I went down to the bluebird café
For some coffee and some scrambled eggs
I had a problem, I’m sorry to say
Keeping my eyes off the waitress’s legs
Tried to concentrate on my coffee
Tried to concentrate on my book
But my mind seemed to have a will of its own
And you know where it wanted to look

I’ve got this thing about waitresses
I know it’s crazy and it’s queer
But I can’t resist a woman in an apron with a pencil behind her ear
I’ve got this thing about waitresses
Just can’t resist their allure
Must be some kind of group I can join
Get some therapy and find a cure

I went down to the bluebird café
Get me some coffee and some scrambled eggs
I spent my time, I’m embarrassed to say
Staring at the waitress’s legs
She had those big, dark sparkling eyes
And she smiled when she brought my meal
I had a hard time convincing myself
There was nothing that I should feel

I’ve got this thing about waitresses
Just can’t resist their allure
Must be some kind of group I can join
Get some therapy and find a cure
Must be some kind of group I can join
Get some therapy and find a cure
Must be some kind of group I can join
C’mon Doctor help me find a cure
