You can NOT have it both ways, and that is reality. Now, you can get a setup where it is best for YOU, and churn out mixes that YOU are happy with all day long, but buying the "highest quality possible" $300 speaker will just get ya a decent speaker in a room.

I have been using this setup for 3 weeks now, with great results. Of course this is in a treated room, something you refuse to do, but the speakers are solid no matter what.....they are not as low end as you might want / think.
