My 2018 hard drive arrived this afternoon—Huzzah!—as promised by the UPS tracking app before the 3 PM time promised. That includes a delay for a mechanical breakdown of some kind at 3:30 A.M. in Kentucky.

At 2:15 I saw the UPS guy streaking across our lawn. By the time I reached the door he was headed back to the truck. “Doesn’t that need a signature?” I called after him. “No,” he said, and drove off.

Okay, I’ve got my drive, so good. But I could swear it said “signature required” on the tracking page. Now that it’s here the page just says “Delivered.”
