I built my styles using existing BIAB styles, although BIAB provides a tool called Hybrid which allows you to pick patterns from other styles to make your style. You can select pattern from any instrument. I guess you could use drums, but I stayed away and use real drums.

You can import a A part, a B part, or both, and even combine an A from one instrument / style with a B from another.

I never built patterns from scratch, but I did change octave on occasion.


I agree. If you want to use what's available in BIAB, it sounds like Stylemaker will do the job for you. It's worth checking out. As Dave mentions, Stylemaker will build all BIAB's chords from the pattern you define as MIDI entry.

While the video clip uses an older version of BIAB, the principle is exactly the same today except that Stylemaker is now found under "File >> Stylemaker".
