How long is a string?

This makes my hair hurt. I strive to make our productions a bit open, “airy” if you will due my objective of having a small live band feel. My wave forms tend toward the first example. I always use a multiband compressor to preserve the dynamics. The platforms we are on, Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Pandora, Amazon, Google, etc., can “have at it” and do what they do with our tunes. Trying to create optimized versions for each platform would suck a lot of the fun outa recording for us.

The most success we’ve had is the licensing of 22 songs by Mood Media via Songtradr. They are the biggest provider of overhead music and I don’t have a clue how they process songs. They are paying us more than we anticipated so I guess we’ve stumbled into doing the limiting “right” as least as far as they are concerned. smile
