Thanks for this Noel. Your instructions were clear and worked like a charm.
One tip I added to your instructions was after the first bar is inserted, I appended the remaining bars that have lyrics to the list creating a list of all the bars to add lyrics. This allowed me to quickly double click down the list to enter my lyrics. Hit the append button, change the bar number and enter. Following your instructions to place the cursor at beat 3 defaults the beat to the correct place in each entry.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
