BLUE-GOLD

I wanted to write a very slow jazz ballad--usually I like up-tempo projects. For the lyric, I was trying to use mixed sensory metaphors (smell of color, taste of sound, etc.) Let me know what you think!

================================
Blue is the color I need today;
Lost in a smother of gray;
Crazy, I know, for a high-life like me;
Losing your love is the reason, you see.

Without you here I've lost the sense of time.
Can't make out the meter or the rhyme.
The song is wrong.

Lonely's the place where I lie in wait;
Keeping a watch far too late.
Once there were with you by my side.
Can't replace you, I've tried.

"Just let go" -- that's the sugar they've sold.
"Just turn the corner", I'm told.
Blue is the color of gold.
