Austin City Limits is a program where actually music of a recognizable type gets played. I am not surprised it produces strong emotional reaction.

Of course I am biased because I like it. I also think it has lasting value.

I also like crazy meaningless songs like "who let the dogs out". Will it have lasting value? I really don't think so even after it won a grammy. I have been going to the Bahamas for a long time and I like "Baha Men". Back in 2001 it was blaring from every radio in the Bahamas.

It is not easy to produce strong emotional reaction consistently on demand. Few have ever been able to do that.

I think that most people who go to Austin City Limits know and like what they will see and hear. It is a pretty special place.
