... All, I appreciate your excellent help VERY much. I have a solution that works for me. I understand now that a MIDI track does NOT yet have an actual audio component, so the MIDI needs to be generated to AUDIO via a VSTi/DXi, (more or less?) and so on. But, I found an easier way is what I am doing-- use RealTracks!!! I create the song in Band In A Box (BIAB) and use all RealTracks. I open the song in RealBand (RB) there. I choose > Render, > Save All Tracks To Individual Files. I get a folder with 1 WAV file for each track. That is EXACTLY what I wanted. Here is a screenshot, just in case. Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
