Wow, that clicky kick sounds odd in the mix...hard to believe it's Modern country rather than a metal tone.
David, You do pump energy into your vocals...the superpower becomes unwieldy in spots.

Interesting narrative...starts off in dubious territory before settling into a robust lust story. The book shelf referencing is a good way of filling lines, finding rhymes and doing fine. I did something similar with Beach Boy song titles yonks ago.

The 1st chorus is cool

Where the Crawdaddies Sing

the Latest Stephen King
It's Like the Color Purple
Like the Girl on the Train

fifth time
it's like the art
of racing in the rain"
though the crawdaddies thing seemed a little forced tough I'm sure Delia won't mind.

I went back for a 2nd listen but, to be honest, hearing fatigue kicked in pretty quickly with the strident vocal and general volume.
