Found it (sort of*), thanks for the tip, so never mind the request, I suppose  *I say 'sort of', because on our Mac end the latter "erase note-based" option doesn't exist for some reason. So if the lyrics are indeed note-based, one has to first find that out by trying to erase them with the only remaining option of the two, then once that fails, convert them to bar-based, and only then can I ruddy get rid of them! Not the "quick'n-easy" way I'd have preferred at all, but I suppose it gets the job done... in the end 
There's only one thing to do in crisis like this - Sleep on it!

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
