Setting the buffer to the highest amount is recommended, as it reduces resource usage on the computer. This is true in any audio software, not just BIAB.

Small buffer settings are only necessary for low latency when recording. When playing back/mixing/etc it's best to set the buffer to the maximum to avoid any pops and clicks - again from any software, not just BIAB.
