In your scenario and keeping the same song without change,
Is this a multi-style RD ?
Have you changed the RD? Do you get the same infill behaviour?
On the RealDrum Settings dialog there is a [_] Developer Mode.
The manual pg422 reports that usually this is for user creating RD styles
but it records errors and it seems to record some info that could be helpful in diagnosing this behaviour.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
