I think that's spot-on.

With MIDI, you have control of everything that's controllable. You can change a Saxophone to a synthesizer, a Rhodes piano into a church organ, or whatever.

With Realtracks, they're excellent for quickly putting together very realistic tracks, but once the pitch and tempo adjustments are done, you're limited to what the musician played and the instrument on which they played it.
