This song was written by an old friend of mine from the Netherlands. Singer-songwriter Wim Wiltenburg.

Different From Today

I recorded this once before, way back in the early 90s with a four-track cassette recorder! I have to say Wim's original embellished guitar arrangement took a little bit of practice for me to master (if I ever really did master it...).

Now, many years later I have recorded it with BIAB Real Tracks. I used a piano as the basis and kept the arrangement simple. I think this emphasizes the song's strong melody.

Lyrics

If you'd be leaving would you say
Would you turn around and walk away
Can you find some time
for the doubts that dwell my mind
It's getting harder to read between your lines

Am I noticed when I smile
Do you hear me when I cry
Do you know just what I say
when I'm asking you to stay
Is tomorrow different from today

When the night falls
and my back's against the wall
Can you hear my call
for loving you

Truth or dare is what we played
Memories are what we made
Nothing said and less is done
about the days that are long gone
The perfect song is never really sung

And when the night falls
and my back's against the wall
Can you hear my call
for loving you
For loving you
