I'm with Steve on the dog issue. You're just a lucky guy there, Mr. Bud. Beautiful wife and a beautiful dog.
But I am disappointed, actually crushed, to hear that Ludwig was not genetically related to van Beethoven. People nowadays don't understand the importance of bloodlines.
It has always been obvious by the quality of the music you produce that you were no mere commoner. lol

A hemiola in music defines a rhythmic ratio of 3:2. It’s notated with a bracket and the number three if the music is in duple meter or the number two if the music is in triple meter.
It is no wonder reading music is a PITB...lol
Then there is Fermanta...say what?
Fermata is a musical symbol that indicates that a note should be held until given a cue from the conductor to continue playing.
Exactly what train were they riding on when the conductor was directing the musician?...lol

In all fairness, reading music on the guitar and related instruments is much harder than saxophone, piano, and most other wind and brass instruments. In school, I learned on saxophone, which is relatively easy to read music with. Transferred the skill to keyboard and guitar/bass, but the guitar/bass is the one I'm slowest at. I can sight-read simple music as long as the hand position doesn't change. On the guitar, anything more than that I have to woodshed. On the sax, I can sightread most music, and need the woodshed on the trickiest ones. But, the guitar has another advantage, so savor this one. If I change keys on the sax, piano, or other wind/keyboard instruments, in the new key the fingering is entirely different. Which is why we practice our scales and arpeggios in 12 keys. When I picked up guitar, and the song went from C to C#, all I had to do was move my hand one fret closer to the bridge. Same fingering!!! Hey, do you want to change keys on this song again?!?!?!  I was gigging on the road in the late 1960s and the 1970s during the free love and pre-AIDs era. I had a lot of fun with a lot of gals who told me they were on birth control (but could have lied). One band I was in went to Canada for 12 week tours. When we'd go to a city for a second time a year later girls used to come to the stage and hold up babies as they compared them to the guys in the band.

When we'd go to a city for a second time a year later girls used to come to the stage and hold up babies as they compared them to the guys in the band. Back when I was on the road, we went back to a club in Michigan, two months after we left, and a girl's mother came in with her daughter, and tried to put her with me. But the girl was huge, much more than three months along, so that didn't fly. It was a sad situation. I always asked the girls if they were "safe", which was the code name for "on the pill (birth control)" back then. If they said no, I had other means of protection. It just seemed like the right thing to do. I figured I was protecting the girls as much as I was protecting myself. But still, you never know. Occasionally, when something like this thread reminds me, I think of one or two of those wonderful women, and I get pleasant memories. I fondly remember the road days, and I'm also still having a great time with my musician/friend/lover/wife in our duo, still making music, still entertaining people, still having fun, and making memories together.
