Hi all! I have no idea if this has ever been requested, but... re: the Melodist-- we need more simple pop styles... there are such simple rules for progressions when it comes to the pop thing. I don't know why every progression generated has to be this insane, jazzy, and oftentimes not-very-musical result.
As a music instructor, it would help greatly, during lessons, to be able to have a student practice soloing / phrasing over an instantly-generated progression, that's easy to solo over. Two reasons why this is ideal-- 1, it keeps them on their toes ("Ok, key of F major. Go!" - "Ok, this is in Bb major. Go!"), and 2. it's just easy to "hear" where something's going... the student can then approach the chord progression by ear, and with the pop predictability, have them make up some nice phrases over a simple pop/rock tune.
Anyone else agree?

+1 But I would go further and suggest a good/interesting chord progression genre based library that can be used in various sections when composing in BIAB. Intros would be a good start  A good use example would be... Open a library, find progression and listen to it based on instruments and sections of your working chord sheet/mixer tracks, without replacing existing, until you find what you are looking for, or get inspired by idea to do a partial replacement, etc.

Chord progression library, +1.
BIAB already has a chord progression substitution function that could be more effective when you start with a suggested progression. If you've never tried this, try it.** You can even enter just a C Major chord for four bars and then ask BIAB to generate several choices of much more interesting alternative progressions.
** Highlight four measures of a C chord. Right-click, Chord Options, Chord Substitution. Choose from the suggestions.

I too would be interested in this because what I use BIAB for is improv practice over just such mentioned chord progressions. Right now I write them out of course, but a library of progressions would be very useful to me and my basic use of BIAB.
