Just bought BIAB23 Mac today. Trying to improve the rather dry sounding parts, especially the midi parts with some effects like chorus and reverbs other than the default. I can select a plugin but none of the plugins change the sound at all. It's like there's a hidden dry/wet control that the UI doesn't show me? What am I missing?
Doesn't matter if it's an apple Delay AU (audio unit) or a third party VST or VST3 plugin; The plugins don't do anything when added to a track in the mixer.

I might be off track here, but if you are using MIDI then you probably need to apply the Fx to the sound module (VSTi / DXi etc) that is creating the output sound. I'm not sure how well the mixer does that with MIDI tracks. Others hopefully will know more.

nit sure about MAc but the windows version of BIAB applies sfx to midi parts if you use a midi style

I am still trying to figure this out, but with midi tracks, the player can still be a vsti or au (on macs) and if the player is a vsti, it seems to apply the effects. For example the soundfont player that ships with BIAB (sforzando? Something like that) works with effects but maybe the default internal midi tracks (which could most use a bit of character added) are not able to have audio effects?
I’m also only able to see midi styles because I launched the program and it seems to have indexed only the internal midi styles, and not the real-tracks. Have to go read the manual to find out how to get it to find the real-tracks that the downloader installed.

Reverb is certainly a parameter that can be controlled through MIDI using a Continuous Controller Number (CCN), and there are many more effects listed in the specification, but I guess the VSTi / MIDI device needs to have the ability to understand and process these messages. I wonder if that's where the shortcomings are?
