Is there a valid reason why when I double click on a song in the Song Picker menu, I have to now take another step in the process and go manually close the darn window using the X in the upper right corner to get to the chord sheet?
I have to do this each time I pick a new song.
Of course this only started after upgrading to the 2025 version. Go figure.
Went back to the 2024 version and when I double click on a song, the song picker windows closes immediately and I am then at the chord sheet, as it should be.
Went back to 2025 build 1124 and the song picker stays open until I manually close it.
Anyone else having the same problem?
Never ever had to do that in the earlier versions of BIAB that utilized the Song Picker menu.

The change was made in 2025 BiaB so users can audition multiple items without leaving the MultiPicker. There were multiple user requests for the change.

I'm with you. There should be an option to use it the old way and the new. It doesn't benefit live performance to have to close the window manually.

It could be a bug or a setting that got reset during the upgrade. Have you checked if there are any new options or preferences related to the Song Picker that might be causing the window to stay open? You could also try reinstalling the 2025 version to see if that fixes it.

Here's a work around. Open BB, open file manager from the task bar, open your song list folder, hit view and list. Now you have a full screen of songs that you can alt-tab between BB and the song list after you choose and enter a song.

Hi, You have options to make this work how it used to. The Song Picker has been integrated into the MultiPicker in 2025, however you can have it work like 2024 if you want. Here are some tips: - The MultiPicker is a 'floating' window that stays open while still allowing you to use the program and is a central location for all of the 'Pickers'.
- You can still open the modal dialog by shift+clicking. If you shift+click on the SongPicker button, this opens the modal dialog that you are familiar with, and it works the same as it did in 2024.
- There is a flag you can set that controls whether the default is to use modal dialogs or MultiPicker. You can set this under the Edit menu | Use MultiPicker instead of dialogs.
- The MultiPicker is very convenient to use for a few reasons. For one thing, it can be opened AND closed by pressing F7, and it always opens immediately (except for the first time it is opened) and with the same position, size, and tab that you last used it. It also provides a consistent appearance and functionality across the Picker windows.
- We could consider a setting that would allow you to close the window on double-click, though users were requesting consistency in the various dialogs.
