Noel,

Listened to this some days ago . . . liked it a ton then . . . like it a ton now. Awesome write and nice work with the Synth voices . . . not the same as live, but pretty darn close (and probably mostly me missing your voice). Really soft on the ears and compelling emotionally. So well done!!

Hi BYOB.

Thank you for having a listen. I appreciate it a great deal. When I wrote the song, I was trying to capture feelings of nostalgia and home-sickness. I'm not sure that I achieved my goal, but your kind words give me heart ♥️

Hi ES.

I'm glad you had a chance to have a listen. Thank you smile Because my musical background is strongly based on piano, I always keep coming back to it as an instrument. It always feels comfortable for me when a piano is part of the band.

Thanks again.

Love the sentiment, Noel.
The arrangement is well suited to this gentle song.
Must be difficult to get these AI voices to perform with passion but you seem to be getting the hang of it.

Good song, I especially liked the chorus. As others have noted, you have a good voice and it is somewhat missed here. I'm listening to that bridge now and wow, it's so good. Good job with Synth V.

Great to hear a new song from you, Noel, it's been too long!

I was surprised to read that you used a synth vocal on this, it actually sounds very similar to what I remember you sounding like and I wouldn't have known if you hadn't told me.

Love the way you write, always, and just a top notch production. Enjoyed!

Noel,

It's a very beautiful song.
You have your own wonderful archives.
I also often pull out songs from my archives, but many of them are songs I didn't like and abandoned half-finished, so they will never end up being such great songs.
And your use of Synth V is also wonderful.
It is somewhat similar to your singing style.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

The lovely harmony from Solaria had Janice singing along.
They are both well nuanced.

We always enjoy your productions and this is no exception!

PS. We ride by Janice’s home place often as it warms her heart to remember all the good times there with her family.
PPS: Love the cover art — there are so many similar old houses in our area. We spend a lot of time photographing them.

Hi Janice and Bud,

Thank you so much for taking the time to have a listen. I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to get back to you. Life doesn't travel in straight lines for me these days, and I often run out of steam before I can get to things that need doing (like replying to people). I would have loved to have heard Janice singing harmony smile Whenever I work with Natalie in Synth V, Janice's vocals help me model an awful lot of the Natalie's final result.

The image that presented itself to you as you listened is very similar to the one that I had in my mind when I wrote the song. It made me smile to read your comment!

All the very best,
--Noel

The melody and chords are sweetly harmonious and the way the bridge lifts up the mood is fantastic.

The arrangement is very pleasant, each instrument has nicely its own place in the mix.

I can't believe how well you have made the singer sound exactly like you, I almost thought it was really you! Not just the natural flow of the words, but the sound and quality. The female harmony fits perfectly with the male, you've clearly worked hard and it really shows.

Janne

Hi Janne.

It's great to see you. Thanks for mentioning the "snakes and ladders" lines. I don't know how that translates to listens around the world but here in Australia, Snakes and Ladders s a board game that children play. It was very popular in the 1960s. I really appreciate your comments.

Hi Vic.

Thank you dropping in. I appreciate the visit. The Synth V voices are quite amazing. It's not all that hard to get an 'okay' sound from them but to get a realistic sound takes a bit more effort. Slowly I'm learning the tricks of the trade!
