Cool tune Floyd. I am always throwing up 12 bar blues backtracks. But the first iteration it has morphs to a melody that is not remotely in the blues realm. I think the bends have toasted my fingers but the time the tune is over. Excellent listen...

floyd, I grew up In Chicago along with many other places. My record collection was well populated with blues. I will first congratulate you on your accomplishments in exploring new territory with your music. Tone, touch and timing are way more important than fast single note lines. BB did pretty well and never really played chords. Jimmie Vaughn was the antithesis of Stevie. Never played fast, always short phrases and was very effective in communicating feeling. The blues is all feel and you’ve shown with this offering that you understand that concept. This example shows just how much fun music can be. Nice, Tom

Hi floyd.
I've been sitting here with my eyes closed listening to you play. It's very easy to imagine you and your BIAB group playing. You've captured that 'polished live performance' vibe really well. The mix is great, and the music is smooth and comfortable to listen to. You have a excellent feel for the blues. I hope I get to hear some more sometime.

Nice city blues. Playing blues is always fraught - Clapton proved that he could go from hero to zero on Journeyman. He went from feeling it to just dealing it...he played like a journeyman at an unpleasant job. This is pretty calm, no confected whipping up n down as you explore your own playing and offer it for listening. I agree with others in that the song is begging for a vocal to push the expression. Tone is ace - clean with fur. The licks n lines are really good - no over play & there're holes left for the head n heart to fill. Your lead journey is really taking long, assured strides. Much appreciated, ray. "clean with fur" "holes left for the head n heart to fill" What could be better? Floyd, for a man with no blues in his record collection you sure can play the hell out of the blues. Super clean tone. That axe of yours is crying! Outstanding chops. I am a blues fan and I have records and CD recordings of the blues all the way back to those great black artists with one guitar and one foot pounding out the tempo. Thus I can say with some authority that this is one outstanding blues instrumental. Wow, Mario - Thanks! Heart warming... Floyd, super tone and feel. Love the slow BiaB folks jammin' along. Nice development of the themes, use of space and dynamic flow. If this is the blues, why does it make me happy? Great job! Thanks for that, Ron. Really.

Floyd,
Well, you certainly owe no apologies of any kind for this great Blues number!
Immediately got B.B. King feel. For a newbie (or a journeyman) in the genre, you aced it. Don''t you wish you'd started working with lead riffs years ago- Blues or otherwise? You have a natural sound/feel it.
I've always liked the sound of a Strat, but they were never comfortable in hand. I played a Tele and/or a Gibson ES-335 for most of my music career. I once had an original '54 Tele. I sold it for a huge profit when I left Germany in 1988. Wishing now that I hadn't.
Oh, forgot - that bass line was stellar, equally so as your lead playing.
Wishing you & yours everything good.
Alan Alan - coming from a journeyman such as yourself, that is high praise in my mind. Deleted - duplicate post. Duh! Worth repeating in my opinion

Love it! Breaking out and discovering you owe no apologies. That 3:35 point was awesome.

I don't know a whole lot about the genre, but I know what I like, and this sure sounds good to me. Well done.

I found this as a very played and produced blues song, but was longing more emotion. Nothing wrong in it, but left no feelings afterwards. It sounded much like those records of the British Blues Revival bands of the late 1960s I grew up with. They had learned from the records of the genuine blues musicians of the USA how to play blues, but haven't lived the lifes of them. "You can't sing the blues, if you ain't got troubles:" disappointment in my performance was neither intended nor intentional. Apologies. Really good feel here, Floyd, and good choice of notes. Nice tone too!
I disagree 100% with Brno BTW. No emotion? Give me a break.
Enjoyed. Thanks so much, Dave. That is great to hear after just being told I have no feel whatsoever.

Cool laidback blues. This piece reminds me of music I'd hear in clubs in the late 60s. Thanks, Chay.... More mastery from you, Mr Floyd.
The smoky bar introduction set the scene.... and lingers, creating all of the right tension and anticipation.
Nothing disappoints. I can see the half-empty glass of bourbon sitting lazily on the bar, never being sure if its owner is ever coming back for another sip, or maybe a mouthful. Thanks, Trev... Hi Floyd,
For a guy who doesn't play the Blues this is a very good effort - good tone on the guitar also especially in the lower frets.
Well done.
Best Regards Nigel Thanks, Nigel...Appreciate that...

We knew you felt the blues when you played lead guitar for us years ago on Bottomland! And also, what about your song that Janice sang, “The Con?” 😎
See how good the blues make you feel ?! You have a smooth jazzy blues feel. We thought of some of JJ Cale’s playing and even heard a few T Bone Walker licks - Nice.
Well performed, arranged and mixed. The whole package.
Keeping the blues alive!
Love it,
J&B

Hi Floyd, really nice job on this, very talented guy thanks for sharing glad I listened fmm Thanks, eric. Nice to hear... Well, that's another string to your well strung bow, Floyd. You're the technicolour man. Very smooth and mellow sound.
Vic Thanks, Vic... Ho, oh, man, I actually laughed out loud, even when no one else is around. The only time I ever did that before was watching Red Skelton ad lib. Apologies, and then realizing none were needed cuz you got this, Floyd.
Okay, I calmed down and pushed Play... Oooo, love that tone, and you're bending those notes as if your radio must have changed to the Blues channel when you slept. Great band and mix of course, but I am blown away by your ability on so many instruments. Hey, seriously, this is so compelling that I got to the end and realized you weren't singing. Then I pushed play again so I could play along with chords on my high-five fretless. Fun. I had at it without apologies. On par with Red? (at least Somebody got it) Thanks for the great comments! Cool tune Floyd. I am always throwing up 12 bar blues backtracks. But the first iteration it has morphs to a melody that is not remotely in the blues realm. I think the bends have toasted my fingers but the time the tune is over. Excellent listen... Thanks, Scott...

Hi Floyd,
This is something completely different from what I know from you. And no singing either! But what a guitar play. You did a great job on that guitar. Very nice. Although the song lasts 4.21, it feels like a summer breeze.
But I'm also curious how David's lyrics will sound on it too :-)

floyd,
There's no blues in my record collection either. And I can't write or play the blues. But you can play the blues. That's great. It's really amazing that you can play something that's not your specialty. I admire you from the bottom of my heart. Your playing is wonderful. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.
