Something I 'kinda' finished a couple of years ago, now just tightening it up.
-----------------------
AUTUMN CHILL

Goodbye to the warmth of our summer days;
Hello to that chill I recall;
Autumn's kiss sets the trees ablaze--
It's fall.

June saw our blossoming love begin;
In August the bloom of it all;
We welcomed September to usher in
The fall.

As we walk the path, we're showered with golden leaves;
Our hearts began to believe something grand
Might be at hand with the coming spring.

October's gray skies needed weathering;
November seemed one massive squall;
We huddled our hearts 'gainst the Autumn chill.
And the warmth in our love brought us closer still
Through fall.

Yep, no loose ends here. That cello adds so much and sets the tone for the story. Autumn I call Fall cuz it's easier to spell. smile Excellent vocal, Tom, and I like how you chop up parts to give the song a cool dynamic. I like the lyrics about my favorite time of year.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Tom, this sounds great.
Super song for a super time of the year, at least for here.
Great vocal, arrangement, backing tracks, and mix
This could be in a musical

Nice use of strings - immediately gives the song a melancholy mood.
Reminds me of the acoustic Pink Floyd stuff in some places.
Enjoyed my listen - a lot!

I really liked this and listened to it over and over. It's very hypnotic and catchy. At first, I felt the string motif was a big too sinister sounding for the tone of the song, but I came around (I think). The pizzicato was good. Typically, these seasonally themed songs have a sad ending, but it was refreshing that yours was upbeat throughout. Was that really a cello? It sounded more like a violin or viola. Really strong effort here, one I'll come back to again and again.

Super composition, and very nicely sung. Really like the stereo spread of what sounds like an acoustic guitar, or maybe a piano, that I don't see in the credits. (This might be two instruments) Very cool ambient feel to the whole composition. Like the dry-ish vocal FX chain you are using here, too. Nice track!

Love the strings, and I like the acoustic guitar too. Converted from Harp? So midi I guess? Sounds good.

Good arrangement and vocal, I like the write too.

Nice!

Lovely instrumentation in this 'chilly' ballad. That fingerstyle guitar sounds excellent.

Hi, Tom.

Interesting arrangement - lots of cool stuff going on. That includes the vocals! smile

Love what you do with the strings, as well as the transitions from one feel to the next.

Not your typical pop song!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

This a lovely sounding song! A melancholy feel with a haunting melody! I love the jazz inspired chord changes! Great work all around!

Wow, that had such a glowing mood...you totally captured the essence of Fall in both lyric and music. The pizzicato added perfect dimension here and there. I had a little problem with the dissonace of the strings. To my ears, didn't seem to match and took away from a brilliant song sung so beautifully.

I think I recognized the strings as Arabian? I've used those on occasion. In my latest song, No, I had to pitch correct one note fractionally throughout where I used it to remove the dissonance. Don't know if that's helpful.

Torrey, ,thanks. BYO--thanks; I have noticed that "dissonant" with some of the MIDI sound banks--glock seems to always sound off to me, even after I check to see if it's the right note. Thanks for the helpful ear!

That is a great narrative with the use of months to cover time.
All meaning a very creative love song indeed.

Your vocal, the band and the mix are perfect for delivering the lyric and melody.

The strings are excellent … supportive and never intrusive.

We much enjoyed it!
