Rainy Days

It was raining here yesterday and I couldn't do any yard work so I just sat down and recorded this little quick and dirty song.

I am playing my jazz guitar and via by breath and keyboard controllers the Swam tenor sax. Band-in-a-Box is supplying the rest of the tracks using my sound sources.

BiaB style = Snowed in Jazz Ballad w/horns
Tempo = 75 PBM

I deleted the horns
Bass- Ample Bass - Upright
Piano - EZKeys2 - Electric Grand - Standard
Drums - SSD5 - Jazz Brushes
ME - Jay Turner Jazz Box guitar
Via my breath and keyboard controllers the Swam tenor sax

As always all comments are welcomed

Slinky and cool, Mario. Nobody does a slow burn like you do. Love the band and the mix. The EP is especially nice. Super playing, too!

Nice alternative to yard work!! I love rainy days. smile

Hi, Mario.

This all sounds good - the melody, the mix, and the instrumentation. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

With the title and laid back vibes I immediately began to visualise Leonid Afremov's rain paintings. The two definitely go together.

Fits the rainy day feel perfectly.
We can see the breeze and slow drops from the leaves.

Fine guitar and sax performances via the Mario Magic.

Enjoyed it!

Mario,

This is a wonderful jazz sound created using MIDI.
The Swam tenor sax via your breath and keyboard controllers and the guitar solo by Jay Turner Jazz Box guitar are both fantastic.
MIDI is great after all.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Yep... it's a good one for a rainy day. And, as it turns out, this morning here in Carolina, it's kinda raining...... more like spitting rain but still the same effect. Grey and wet.

I had a Yamaha DX-27S, which I sold last year. It had a breath controller. I tried using it a few times and I had to blow so hard that I ended up dizzy by the first chorus of the songs. It might not have been adjusted correctly for sensitivity or maybe I was using it wrong. Either way.... I didn't use it but..... you seem to have mastered the use of the breath controller you have.

nice song.

Thanx Scott. Yes that breath controller along with my keyboard controller has opened up a new world for me.

Thanx Herb. I am not a master of the breath controller but I am learning. My breath controller is not hard to use breath wise; that is it is easy to blow into. Plus it has an adjustable breath input curve, much like a keyboard velocity curve.
