The only small nit are the vocals, they sound a bit unfinished (and no, it's not YOUR vocals), they should 'flow' (for lack of a better word) a bit better with the backing tracks.
I'll have another listen, and see what I hear. You'll not be shocked if I'm too lazy to fix it, even if I agree with you. wink

Thanks!

I really like that lead voice and the background vocals sound awesome.
The lead wasn't what I had in my head, but I'm glad it worked out.

Good to hear SynthV did a decent job on the BGVs. smile

I'm glad it resonated with you.

While I'm sure it wouldn't get a Nihil Obstat, I suspect the main doctrinal error ...

I'll have a listen.

After enough listens, "strange harmony" transmutes into "banal consonance". wink

Suno is quite amazing --especially in the right hands. I like it right from you first idea for the song. Might this be on your upcoming album.
Ha!

Suno was a helpful kick in the pants. I'm glad the results were enjoyable.

And funny.
Thanks, I really appreciate that! smile

Working with Suno is helped me recognize some of my writing weaknesses. Hopefully I'll be able to make progress without having to start with a Suno write.

Solid production (as always). Good mix.
I'm glad to hear it! I have a habit of spending a lot of time polishing the mix, but I've been trying to be a bit less obsessive about the sorts of things that only I'm going to notice.

Always enjoy your write ups, too.

Yeah, I've been leery about all this.

I tried writing with ChatGPT, and it felt more collaborative. But it also felt like what I ended up wasn't really mine, even though I'd told the program to use specific words and phrases.

With Suno, it's even less collaborative, because I'm using the free version and there are only a limited number of prompts I can give it. Plus, I don't have access to the backing tracks and singer, unless I use a program to split out the tracks. It feels too much like I'm working with someone else's music.

After all, if I could produce it myself, I wouldn't be using Suno, would I?

[Thanks for your detailed notes, very interesting where you started from and where you ended up, and I agree with Floyd, this is basically your write.
Thanks!

Hey, we reckon Suno doesn’t have a southern accent option?
Actually, Suno probably has an excellent southern accent option.

The original Suno vocal was really, really good.

SynthesizerV? Not so much, and I was too lazy to try simulating it. Maybe if I get really bored... wink

Quote
Excellent job all around. The technicalities of the mashup are impressive and thanks for including it.
No doubt a lot of work and effort involved.
Thanks!

But it was actually less effort than you might suspect. My main roadblock tends to be lyrics, but I started out with rewritten lyrics. Getting a backing track in BiaB is easy, even when starting from scratch.

Normally, I'll start with a chord progression, and write a melody to it. I did that here, but this time I went back and changed the progression if it didn't fit how I wanted the melody to go. That's not part of my normal process.

Once I gave up trying to duplicate the feel of the original Suno song, things got a lot simpler. And since the harmony is rhythmically the same as the melody, that also went much faster than expected.

So while it required work - don't all songs? - it got a lot easier once I gave up trying to do things the hard way. laugh

Thanks for your comments!

Cute lyric David. The AI technology is unbelievable. I see all the ads on Facebook for creating custom songs for couples anniversaries and birthdays. Song was really well done..
