There's So Much More on Soundcloud
There's So Much More on YouTube

A song about how there is more to life than can be experienced in one lifetime.

Style is _DIR_FSL.STY (Sultans of Straits)

RealTracks in style: ~406:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 136
RealTracks in style: ~~509:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Dire Ev 120
RealTracks in style: 511:Guitar, Electric, Soloist Dire Ev 140
EZDDrummer.
Dave Bell (Blue Attitude) played guitar. I played bass and sang.

There's So Much More

Birds of flight are frozen in frame, and clouds stand still in time.
An armored knight once seeking his fame was sadly left behind.
All the rules of life apply to all before we die
The old is still so new. There's so much more to do.

Something cirlces in the air above the crowd.
Yet no one seems to pay it mind.
"The sky is falling," someone says out loud,
the armoured knight they left behind.
When the time is on our side, we tend to let it slide.
The future's on its way. There's so much more to say.

Everybody thought that they were gonna win
the lottery that they would never play.
They take the easy path. Their life they merely laugh away.
When they realized they're running out of time,
they feel so abused.
They fail in their task then they ask to be excused. No.

If you wander in the wonder of the hills,
you will one day win the world of truth.
The silence fills your soul with sounds of something new
that guides you back to sinless youth.
When we reach impending end there's no need to pretend.
We knock on Heaven's door yet still there's so much more.

Marty,

This is just great! Love the driving rhythm and sense of urgency this song has. Your vocal further adds to the message. This is such an excellent key for your voice.

Love Dave's guitar - he brings so much to the feel and flow.

Hi Marty,
Great song. The guitar solo contributes so much (well done, Dave) and there's something about the lines "if you wander in the wonder of the hills, you will one day win the world of truth" that were really catchy...a combo of alliteration and phrasing.

Ain't that the truth, brother!

Love your conversational philosophy wrapped in a catchy tune. Your vocals are really cool. I especially liked the little strategic yelps. (There are some vocal tuning changes that sound a hair too aggressive for this style of song, but that could be my bias) Super arrangement and mix. Dave has such a distinctive voice, I could name-that-guitarist in about the first beat. Always a nice add. Super tune, Marty!

Your vocals of late have really stood out for me. And Dave's guitar is instant recognition that this is two-thirds of Blue Attitude. I would tell you to keep em coming, but it scares me to think what your output would be like with that kind of encouragement. JK! Great job as usual.

Brilliant song on all levels. You've really got your own sound and way with lyrics, it's actually surprising that you don't have an album out on a top label. Love Dave's guitar in this, too, as written on YT.

One of the highlights on your new album, a song that has started to play in my head lately while walking outside smile And the lyrics also remind me that there's so much more beauty in the nature yet to be discovered and one lifetime's just too short, "the wonder of the hills" and "the silence fills your soul", sound like you have experienced those precious moments!

Dave's guitar riffs are here so memorable, that man is really at the peak of his creative period. Your bass is nicely mixed and carries the whole band with pleasant Dire Straits flavors. Convincing vocals. There's so much more to wait for from your future gallery of thoughts and songwriting!

You're my philosophical muse! Dave Bell has once again conjured some truely inspired guitar work – those riffs are so good, they practically have their own fan club. 👋

And your bassline? It's not just "in the slot," it's practically the VIP lounge within the groove. 👏✔️⭐

"There's So Much More" is more than just a song; it's a philosophical spa treatment for the soul. You've managed to capture that universal ache of unfulfilled potential, the feeling that we're all just toddlers staring at a planet-sized ball pit and only playing with a single plastic ring. The imagery of the frozen birds and the armoured knight is pure genius, painting a picture of lives lived in stasis or chasing outdated glories.

Methinks Marty, you're like the musical equivalent of a really good episode of "The Twilight Zone," but with better guitar solos. You make me question everything, from the meaning of life to whether I remembered to water my plants. Keep those observational musings coming, you're making us all a little wiser, and a lot cooler. You're practically the Socrates of the songwriting scene, just with a much better band. ♫₊˚.🎧 ✩。 🤎

I echo all the kudo's..I'll just say I enjoyed it a lot! Especially that spoken "Nooo.." great touch. I always love how you add some "non-musical" elements to your vocal--really gives it a personal touch, a kind of Marty trademark. Overall, great production and performances and perfect use of BIAB components. Thanks for taking up some of my valuable time--now got to get back to the "so much more"..!

The dynamic duo strikes again.
Another outstanding song.
I have run out of adjectives on how good your songs are so I will just say
I loved it.

Thanks, Beth. Dave is a master at creating the perfect tracks. Yeah, I like alliteration.

Truth, Ron. It's what makes the hereafter and reincarnation so appealing. I actually made a goofy effort to have my voice crack at times like a young teen whose voice is just starting to crack. Now I have to listen for those vocal agressions to which you refer.

Thanks, Bob. I seem to be slowing down since the back surgery, but still have enough songs already done that I could post 3 a month through the rest of the year.

“The old is still so new. There's so much more to do.” Ain’t that the truth!

You sing this with great conviction and the lyric is such a relatable one.
We often tell our nieces and nephews to make the most of each day and think of it as a special occasion.

Man, what a production. Ya’ll laid down some excellent guitar and bass tracks.

Add the comtemplative write, complementary vid, and excellent mix to that and you have a fine production indeed.

Enjoyed it!

Marty,
another world in 3.14.
Dave sets this song with his very cool licks.
The song is excellent, the vocal is fab and the bass makes the groove.
Ab Fab.

Hi, Marty.

Nice write!

It's hard to top Dave's guitar, but the vocals are what sold the song for me. smile

Thanks more than you can know, Janne. So glad in some way I'm with you on your walks. Yep, wonder more than silence have been experienced. wink Dave peaked years ago, and since then he's been flying high above that peak.

Thanks, Izzy, I'm with you in that Dave Bell fan club. I like that viB lounge idea. This line was especially special: "that universal ache of unfulfilled potential, the feeling that we're all just toddlers staring at a planet-sized ball pit and only playing with a single plastic ring."
