Chay,

This sounds great. This piece has many moods. Love the way you incorporate the sax and the organ. Awesome mix as well.

Chay, like this a lot. The buildup is nice, and the lead instruments trade off fluidly. The first guitar soloist has a nice melodic flow that's a welcome focal point for the listener. Well done!

Chay, this is one of if not your best to date. Those guitar and sax leads are fantastic. You have a knack for mixing the RTs to perfection.
Great song

Man, you are a master of all BiaB productions .... have we said that before? smile

Finding the "right" for your production solo RT's is not an easy task.
No doubt it takes a lot of auditioning and perhaps some comping.

The great build takes the listener nicely through the multiple moods.

Great mix too.

Well done!

I echo all the kudos from above. How you find just the right licks and phrases is beyond me!

I esp liked how the introduction of the bass really lifted the track out of the dreamy state and got it into a groove. And the piano/harp section really got my attention!

Thanks for posting this excellent work!

Hi Chay, how's it going over there with your "friend"? Loved that piano at about 2. Reminded me of a song I grew up with...can't remember the name of it now. It was so popular. Ug, now that will be bothering me all day until I can remember. Anyway, nice composition and instrumentation.

Promising intro. I love that organ sound and guitar solo. Soulful sax. Good groove. You've done everything with the arrangement to keep song interesting, but I'm still missing the vocals..

Great song

Thanks, Mario. When I first created it I wasn't that keen on it - I thought it was a bit almost 'pop'-like - and it's only since the remix that it's grown on me.

Thanks, Janice & Bud! No, you've not said that before - but do feel free to repeat yourself as flattery will get you everywhere laugh - and yep "auditioning" is the right word for the amount of samples I listen to before choosing which fits best. Then as written in the post, 4 of the 5 solos are put together from 9 samples, only the piano solo not needing ameliorating (that's a word I don't often use!), but I don't recall if it was the first generation, though I'd guess it probably was.

Thanks, TanoM. I create anything from 20-50 solo samples of various instruments to see which works best with any instrumental - "auditioning" as J&B wrote - though I often have an idea of which instruments I want to use before I start, but even when I find a good solo there'll be weak parts in it, so I regenerate a few extra of the same one so I can construct something with the right dynamic. It takes ages and can sometimes be frustrating as often phrases I want to use overlap the next phrase I want to use, but it's worth it to get the right sound.

Thanks, Beth! Re my spook, I made a change to the position of my bed - long story - and at first it really peeved the pest, but my theory worked and although I still get buzzed right before sleeping it's no longer ever from the front and I'm no longer kept awake by it. I recently watched about 10 minutes a UK TV episode of "Help! My House Is Haunted", but while I 100% empathised with the family who were being seriously spooked I couldn't cope with the "experts" as they know squat and are mostly excitement hunters. In other such series I find the disbelieving psychology "expert" even more annoying as one doesn't get the objective 'scientific mind' one only get subjective emotional prejudices I'd never go on such shows as I'd end up screaming at the abjectly non-expert 'experts'! laugh

Thanks, Brno. As many now know, where I live I can't record live as my retirement flat is only separated from my neighbour by plasterboard walls. I have 2 songs, 1 from the 70s and 1 from the 80s, which I want to record with my vocals, plus another new one, all 3 of the latter with female harmony vocals, plus I've got 2 new songs I need a female vocalist for, but even there I have to make a recoding of my singing it so they (Fiverr vocalists) know how to sing them. I did rough vocals on 1 song about a year ago, but since then I've always had my aged neighbour in, often with family visiting, so it's extremely frustrating. But my next post, sometime over the weekend, will be the remix of a song I posted last year.

As usual I listened but didn't watch.
Nicely assembled piece.
The lead sol comes in a wee bit loud but settles down.
Good balance of instruments.
Aside from the solo guitar and sax the melodies were a little buried.
Well done.

Cheers
