Very cool tune.
My daughter works in NO. She and her husband used to live in the city but bought a place in Slidell. He's an officer with the NOPD so they both commute in. We're headed there in a few more weeks to welcome a new grandson to the family.
This time, rather than tour the city, we're going to hit the coast and check out the small seaside towns.
I liked that song. Good stuff. That's cool, Herb. Wise choice Slidell. NOPD is a tough job, and I'm sure with some rather interesting moments. Have a great time meeting your new grandson. Hey, if you run into anyone from the NOLA chamber of commerce, pitch my song.  A fantastic tourism treat...a gourmand's go to.
As usual it's a total package of writing, performing & mixing with an amusing tale to tell.

Thanks Marty THanks, Ray. Haha, beans are always an afterthought. Man, I spent a lot of time with that triangle dinner bell. Glad you noticed. Now, having just overstuffed myself, a song about food is not so comfortable, but thankfully, it was an enjoyable listen. Nice sax. Perfect ending. And I just read that you were an English teacher! That does clear up the wizardry with words aspect of your multiple talents. Haha, thanks, Beth. "Wizardry of words." I like that. But no, I ain't no English teacher (see?). The only thing I can teach is baseball --especially the mental game. Hi, Marty. What a great song! It pulls me in with the funky groove, and keeps on serving up yummy bits! Excellent groove, those drums & percussions together with the MardiGras instruments and your bubbling bass create a deliciously tasty, appetite whetting mood. And those funny and vivid lyrics make me feel even more hungry, now you owe me dinner... just kidding Convincing vocals and superb mix! I got the New Orleans vibe, the sax was so upbeat that I want to join the parade. I hope this song will get lots of airplay in New Orleans Janne
