Summary of what I believe people are saying:
Shawn and Lee, are saying regenerating partial gens create artifacts at the beginning or the end that they want to easily remove.
Rusty, is just letting you know about partial gens and they uses it a lot.
Andrew, I'm not sure what feature he's going to enable.
Does he mean put back the 2025 secondary edit view in Track view?
I agree that that basic edits should be doable inside the track view.
However the awkward secondary loop view was unorthodox.
I much prefer a right mouse context menu to cut or reduce volume in a highlighted section would be more main stream.
This makes it a similar workflow to the Partial Gen.
Studio One (latest version), Win 11 23H2 , i9 -10940X 3.3 GHz, 32GB Mem, a 4K 40" monitor, PreSonus Studio Live III Console as interface/controller. secondarily test on Reaper, Cakewalk, and S1 on Surface Pro 3 Win 10 (latest versions).

Are you familiar with Ctrl+F8 method at Track View? Hello Rustyspoon, I'm assuming you are suggesting Ctrl+F8 within Tracks View as an alternative to using the MultiRiff feature and I agree that this is a quick method to partially regenerate RTs from the Tracks View. Thanks for pointing this out. However, just to be clear, this doesn't address the missing functionality that the 'Edit Phrases and Loops' feature uniquely provides. In the scenario that I and others have described in posts above, I have already painstakingly pieced together - perhaps measure-by-measure - what I believe to be the perfect RT solo. Unfortunately, my "manual", measure-by-measure concatenation process has resulted in a short, but annoying, audio artifact at the "seam" between two riffs. Again, I already have the perfect riff in place, so I don't want to regenerate; I just want to edit out the artifact and perhaps extend the previous riff as needed. Tracks View with the 'Edit Phrases and Loops' functionality gives me an easy, visual method to do this quickly within the same Tracks View. Regards, Shawn

I was actually replying to Shawn, but...
Have you spent time with Ctrl+F8 method? If so, how long? 2-10 minutes or longer? I used it for many hours, different instruments. Rhythm and soloists, to my taste it is the most powerful tool BIAB has to offer as far as partial regens go. I've used it but not loads, maybe it's something I'll experiment more with. I get a bit irritated with the screen moving around with auto-scroll when zoomed in, something a lot of developers need to understand IMO, not just PG. I'm prepared to try things and maybe I'll find some methods are better when I get used to them, however, I still think the edit phrase is a must have, you can tweak things in ways that can't be done with any other method.
