In Band-in-a-Box 2026 (latest build 1220), in the Audio Edit window I copy a selection of a track, then I try to paste it at the same position on another track, but BIAB does not paste only the selected region (it seems to paste everything from the start of the selection onward).

It's possible to CTRL+C (copy) and CTRL+V (paste) in Tracks View. I just tried it. I set 'snap' to on, selected a region in the Bass track, used CTRL+C to copy and then pasted that into the Guitar track with CTRL+V. It worked for me. I also tried the same thing in Audio Edit and it worked fine.
I have BIAB 2026 (1220).

The problem I reported was with the Audio Track, e.g. a recorded user track.
Not close to BIAB to verify if there has been any action on this

I see what you mean. There is definitely a problem with copy and pasting the audio track. I'll pass the information on to the developers.

Thank you for your replies, and sorry for my late response.
The problem occurs at least with audio tracks I've recorded (and in my opinion, it affects all audio tracks).
It does indeed seem similar to the one reported by thomasc.
I've noticed that I don't have the problem when the selection is at the end of the track, as if the end of the selection itself isn't being registered.
Obviously, I've used the standard commands (shortcuts and menu items), and I've retested several times, including on a brand new project.

And by the way, I was disappointed to see that copy/paste actions were not directly possible in the track window, and that it was necessary to go to the edit windows.

I understand that the issue has been confirmed and reported to the developers, so we hope to see a fix in a forthcoming patch.

A weakness of bb is its audio and midi editing.
Real band is the right vehicle to do audio and midi editing.
Chock full of features
.. just one example notice in RB tracks view when you do an edit you can see it in relation to all the other tracks
