12 Bar Blues on Soundcloud 12 Bar Blues on YouTube I have a bunch of new ones I haven't posted yet, but this one is around 40 years old. It was one of the first songs I posted here, but this is a remake with Dave Bell. Wow, what a difference. Another reason for the difference is you folks of this forum. Man, I learned a lot in 5 years, and still have a lot more to learn. Maybe i'll be back with another version in 5 years to show what you taught me by then. Style is _TBLZSLR.STY (Texas Blues 12/8) RealTracks in style: 1922:Bass, Electric, TexasBluesRockSlow12-8 Sw 060 RealTracks in song: 2730:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm BluesSlowSwingMike Sw 085 RealTracks in style: 1924:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockSlow12-8Sol Sw 060 RealTracks in style: 1923:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockSlow12-8Brent Sw 060 EZDrummer Dave Bell ( Blue Attitude) played guitar. I played bass and sang. 12- Bars BlueFlight 507 flew in from Dallas. Sue stepped off crying. She said, "Who's Alice?" I said, "She's just someone who's no one, so don't get so upset. There's hardly any mem'ry left inside me to forget. When I miss you, I drink the stew inside these 12 bars... blue." She said, "Don't tell me you've lost your memory. I heard the dirt from her husband Henry." I said, "You don't know what you're saying. Her husband Henry's dead. Some red-hot barmaid, Dinah, might o' blasted off his head." She said, "It's true!! So that was YOU when those 12 bars blew." I daresn't doddle, but doodle little. I'm fit for bottle, but not for fiddle. I'm not in shape for haulin' [*****], so let those Mounties come. I'm dining in my glass. You know I'm not just acting dumb. She told the screws, "I've got good news. He's playin' 12-bar blues. Judge said my travel he's gonna limit. When I smell trouble, I double back in it. My life's a nutshell in a cold cell. I still say, "Alice who?" There's 12 bars out my window ---and 12 on them, too. I think of Sue, and drink to stew, behind those 12 bars. Blue. I think of Sue, and drink my stew, behind those 12 bars. Blue. V- A A7 D Dm A E F#m D A E-D,Dm6 A E7

AWESOME!
This is some rocking blues! I love the way Dave's guitar kicks this off hard. One of your best vocals - ever! Love the grit and drive.
Loved it all!

Wow, your best lyrics, ever, IMHO! And sung so well. Dave's guitar boosted the musicianship, as always. Just a terrific package. Well done!

A gritty, raw yet polished sound, and a story that gives Quentin Tarantino ideas for his next film. I love how Dave's guitar and your (really great) vocals interact. On my third listen now. Excellent stuff ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

I can't top what I wrote on the YT post ~ What a terribly, terribly, terribly sad song! 😪 Yet ... Yet ... Yet .... Dave's guitar is sooooo sexy! I wept in both woe and glee! 😂🤣😂 ~ but I always want to say great wordage re the 12 bar and 12 bars, blue. Very creative idea!

Marty and Dave, you have posted many great songs but IMHO this is your best to date. Of course I am bias as I love the blues but so what. Great vocal and lyrics. Dave's outstanding chops compliments your vocal perfectly. Loved it

Ha!
Too cool for school. Side splitting write. SUPER vocals and a SUPERB guitar part from Dave. Crisp BiaB backing track. What's NOT to like? Nuthin' is the correct answer.
"Who's Alice?!"
Ha HA!
Totally relate to how you've grown through this forum's interactions.

Hi Marty! Great song, great singing, good band, and Dave’s lead guitar is filthy! (Good)
Great storytelling in the lyrics - K-Dub Ya and I have a songwriting challenge we have to submit soon where the song needs to tell a story, so we’ve got a fine example in your song. Just wondering - is Dinah from the diner?
Gee, AI is getting good at video clips. I kept checking the fingers and they’re all accounted for - and no surplus either.
Loved it. Andrew

Hi Marty, Man, such a great song! Love the lyrics, very clever. Great job on the video too, watched it for the first time last time last night. Loved the "clips from the bands past performances" bit especially Thanks to everyone that mentioned my bit.

Bob Thanks, Bob. You can hear why i hoped Dave would play on this remake. i'll also give him credit for the inspiration for improved singing, if so percieved. Well done on this blues song with its delightful lyrics. You and Dave make a great team. Laurent Thanks, Laurent. On my songs Dave gets the track with my bass already in it. It always amazes me how he adds stuff like we reheared it or something. Wow, your best lyrics, ever, IMHO! And sung so well. Dave's guitar boosted the musicianship, as always. Just a terrific package. Well done! Thanks, Bob. These lyrics are older than BiaB now that i think of it. Blues with a sense of humor! Good vocal. Good mix. Dave doing the thing he does best.
Enjoyed.
fj Thanks, Floyd. I see you have another one posted. Heading there next hoping it's another for your musical.

Hi Marty
You sure can sing and play the blues, and Dave did you proud on the solo. Blues only improve with age, and at 40 years old this is only getting better. Worthy of a jam with Joe B.
Kind regards

Excellent stuff ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif) Haha. Thanks, Brain. QT doesn't make underground shorts, but if he did... Since December i've remixed/remastered over 120 songs from the last 5 years. Dave is on most of them. When you hear them all one after the other like that, you really come to appreciate just what Dave does for a song. Thanks, Chay. And especially thanks for taking the time to say so on YT, too. Marty and Dave, you have posted many great songs but IMHO this is your best to date. Of course I am bias as I love the blues but so what. Great vocal and lyrics. Dave's outstanding chops compliments your vocal perfectly. Loved it Thanks, Mario. Oh, i know you are a Blues fan. You live like right between Dave and me, and i often imagine the ability to get together at your place some Sunday for a jam. Ha!

Totally relate to how you've grown through this forum's interactions. Thanks for everything, Ron. Yeah, that's how it goes with me and lyrics. i just sit back and wait. The first line came from who knows where, but then i needed a word to rhyme with Dallas. The rest is his story.
