Salve a tutti;
ho da mesi rinnovato il mio parco pc passando da Windows a MAC; sto cercando di usare il MAC ma mi pare 'tutto' terriblimente complicato... anche le cose più semplici..., ad ogni modo ho pure acquistato BIAB per MAC (2011.5) e pure il MagaPAK (sempre per MAC) ma mi pare che sotto Windows BIAB sia fantasticamente più semplice, immediato e potente...; ora mi trovo con un problema relativo l'importazione o apertura di un file MIDI; mentre con BIAB/Win bastava 'aprire il file Midi' e tutto partiva meravigliosamente perfetto... sigh..., con il MAC non ci riesco, ho provcato a contattare l'assistenza via mail ma mi danno solo risposte 'a monosillabi' e pertanto inutilizzabili ed assurde... sinceramente speravo di meglio visto che ho speso una bella cifra..., comunque pare che per aprire un Midi debba farlo dal menù 'FILE' .. 'importa accordi da file midi'... e mi appare una pagina con vari parametri..., provo ad aprire il mio file e gli accordi ci sono ma quando lo ascolto si sentono degli strumenti assurdi con suoni da far ridere... insomma una schifezza...; non penso siano le impostazioni midi del programma in quanto se apro lo stesso file con Windows (e va benissimo!) e poi lo salvo come file .MGU, quando lo riapro con BIAB per MAC va benissimo!!!... ma mica posso lavorare sempre con Windows in parallelo con MAC no?... mi sarei aspettato che col MAC tutto fosso più semplice ma pare proprio di no..., come fare per aprire sti benedetti files midi con BIAB per MAC e sentire gli strumenti che suonano come dovrebbero?... sto pensando che stò MAC è prorprio una palla....... chiedo aiuto.....
Grazie infinite a chi mi potrà dare una mano...

Allora. Rispondo a te quello che hanno detto a me. In pratica, la versione MAC non è uguale in tutto a quella Windows. I filoni di sviluppo seguiti sono stati leggermente diversi. Per alcuni anni è andata avanti solo la versione per Windows, gli anni in cui il MAC era un po' in declino. Poi, come sappiamo, Apple è ripartita alla grande (quando è rientrato al timone il mitico Steve Jobs) e quindi anche PGMusic ha ripreso lo sviluppo del programma per MAC. Questa versione, al momento, non può aprire i file MIDI e suonarli direttamente. Può invece importare gli accordi di un file MIDI, che tu puoi suonare poi con gli stili di Band in a Box. In pratica questo è il vero uso di Band in a Box, che è fatto per produrre degli arrangiamenti con gli stili di cui è dotato, immettendo gli accordi nel foglio ben noto. La funzione importa da FIle MIDI permette di aprire il file MIDI, interpretarne gli accordi e scriverli quindi direttamente nel foglio accordi. Applichi lo stile che ti piace e ottieni il nuovo arrangiamento. La versione Windows, invece, permette di aprire il file MIDI direttamente perchè è dotata di un sequencer multicanale incorporato, che oltre a riconoscere gli accordi permette di suonare il file MIDI direttamente. Questa funzione venne infatti inserita negli anni in cui il MAC non andava molto, e quindi non venne messa anche in quella versione. Oggi lo sviluppo del programma predilige le RealTracks, e in questo le due versioni sono perfettamente allineate. Invece BIAB sul MAC funziona meglio, ad esempio, per i suoni. Non bisogno dei sint VST o DXi, perchè usa i suoni diretti del MAC, che a me piacciono molto. La canalizzazione MIDI è estremamente più facile, e si collega anche ai suoni di GarageBand senza problemi, così come la tastiera MIDI, a latenza zero. Per quanto riguarda il MAC, anch'io sono passato (anzi tornato) al MAC dopo che lo avevo lasciato nel 1996, ma al contrario du te lo trovo molto più semplice, affidabile e comodo da usare (li uso tutti e due, sinceramente, e anche sul MAC ho installato Windows con BOOTCAMP). Confido che in futuro anche il nostro amato BIAB sia uguale in tutto e per tutto nelle due versioni, perchè allora non avrò nessun motivo per tenermi Windows, se non per lavoro.

volevo sapere, da qualcuno che ha già provato la versione 2012 Mac, hanno inserito l'importazione files midi come per win?

Devo cambiare quello che ho detto.
Ora la versione 2012.5 importa i MIDI File e in più contiene anche la Finestra Karaoke, nella quale appaiono i testi dei file di Karaoke.
Quindi la versione MAC è ora molto più vicina a quella per Windows sulle funzioni classiche,
anche se PGMusic si sta concentrando sulle funzioni più "moderne", dove la versione per MAC tiene il passo di quella per Windows.
Mi riferisco ai RealTracks ed in particolare alle nuovissime SuperTrack MIDI, che a mio parere sono rivoluzionarie.
Stanno infatti recuperando l'utilità e la praticità del MIDI, costruendo l'equivalente dei RealTrack in formato MIDI.
Questo significa ancora esecuzioni reali di musicisti veri, con tutto il realismo della musica suonata da grandi professionisti, registrata però in MIDI.
Io lo trovo fantastico perchè scarica moltissimo il motore audio, permette una gestione delle tracce, dei volumi e anche degli strumenti del brano ottenuto molto più semplice e allo stesso tempo versatile, perchè puoi cambiare lo strumento suonato dal musicista, adattandolo ai tuoi gusti musicali.
E non richiede tempo per la generazione e il rendering delle tracce audio, con una velocità enorme.
Non c'è nessun programma sul mercato che faccia neanche lontanamente questo.
I primi risultati sono eccezionali.
Non vedo l'ora che escano altre SuperTrack MIDI.

La versione 2012 sinceramente non ricordo, ma nella 2012.5 si, si possono importare i midi.

LA versione per MAC permette l'importazione dei file MIDI, ma non in maniera così immediata come quella per Windows.
In WIndows esiste infatti il comando Apri file MIDI, che fa tutto da solo e mostra il Foglio degli accordi con gli accordi che il programma interpreta.
In MAC invece c'è il comando Importa accordi da File MIDI,c he apre una finestra in cui bisogna scegliere tutte le opzioni, fra cui quella di importare nella melodia tutte le tracce MIDI, oltre a trovare gli accordi.
Alla fine il risultato è lo stesso.
